Best D series motor
 

If I had a choice of any D-SERIES motor to boost, which would you choose, based on experience?

BTW, congrats to me and my 4th star (even though I wish I could earn money for it...)

id do a a6 lower end, with a y8 head... up the comp ratio and still alllows you to retain the obd0 distributor without modification

if u plan on converting to obd1 or if u are allready, get the z6 head and dizzy.

b8 block(with 4v reliefs) a6 head. Poor mans mini me. 8) vtec is overrated. I built this setup for basically pennies. People laughed at me when they looked at the cx block but with a 8lb flywheel and 2lb crank pulley this fucker's throttle response was crazy! I'll alway have 1.5 love. One man's junk is another mans treasure. But overall I'd take a jdm d15b anyday.

My d16z6 has worked out pretty well for me, so I vote for that.

Z6 all the way!! 11psi on stock internals at 157Kmiles makes 211 whp!!! Love the D!!

im pimpin a y7 and it boosts great at 70k miles. im planning to swap in a built ls vtec at some point though so i can make some real power.

Yea a boosted z6 works very good at 10psi thats my choice its cheap and easy to find parts

Sleeved A6 block to 78 mm, toss in a D15B crank, 142 mm rods, choose your pistons.
