The Berlin Wall

Came across this video, ---- makes me tears up.
Still remember seeing it on the news back then when I was a kid, pretty touching moment.

Def a great moment and I too remember watching it on the news as my parents told me to come sit down as it was history unfolding live on TV.

Funny, the last two Germans I talked to thought it was the saddest day they could remember in their lifetimes.

"That was the day my country's wealth was cut in half."

Apparently the east Germans were some uneducated no-skill ditch diggers used to standing in line for handouts aka the Communist way.

Ill agree they also like to hate everyone besides themselves. When that gets old they start hating they own kind. IMO i think most germans are still butt hurt about wwII

They've got some wierd complex about it, a lot of it they carry around on a nonverbal level.

If a German stands up for his/her national anthem, everyone around them hisses "Nazi!" at them.

Most of the real Germans (the citizens) didn't like Hitler. He was one of those guys that started out charismatic and reasonable, but became more evil and scary with each new level of power he reached. By the time everyone realized the atrocities he was capable of, no one was willing to stand up to him for fear of their own lives It is therorized that Germans carry a lot of guilt about the atrocities committed by Hitler, mix that with their desire to be string and proud, and you get some odd behaviors sometimes.

Just my thoughts,

Craig
