Re: BEARS

Are you talking about Shaun Alexander beign Injury prone? He has played in every game he has been in the NFL up to this year. I know Hutch is good, but saying Shaun is nothing without him is a pretty stupid comment. He was the first running back in NFL history to record 15 or more touchdowns in five consecutive seasons, that's pretty damn impressive no matter who your running behind. He is Mr. Cosistency (excluding this year of course, he has fucked me over in one fantasy league since I had the first pick) andyou can't argue his stats... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaun_Alexander

2001-2005... 7504 total yards (1500 yards a year average)
2001-2005... 87 total touchdowns (17.4 TD's a year average)

Enough said. ;)

Re: BEARS

Once Chester Taylor (who now runs behind Hutch) does what Shaun has, then you can say what you want.

But right now Chester is on pace for an 1123 yard season and 2.7 touchdowns, so he has a lot of work ahead of him lol.

You must not understand what i'm saying. Yes, Shaun is a good running back but he will not rack up yards as much yards as he did when they had Hutchinson. It doesnt matter how good of a running back you are if you dont have a good lead blocker. And i guess it isnt another huge coincidence that Shaun had his first 1000 rushing yard season when Hutchinson was drafted to seattle in 2001. :-*

Re: BEARS

Offensive lines make a running back period...With maybe Barry Sanders being the exception......You throw "any" starting running back in the NFL on the leading rushing team in the league and that loser will be a star running back and have a 1000 yard season every time....Denver running backs are good every year because of the blocking up front and not because of the running backs talents........

A few good examples of good running backs sitting on a shity lines is the Arizona Cardinals with Edg and the Ravens with Lewis..... How is the replacement back doing for the Indy colts since Edgerin James is gone......I don't know but I would venture to guess with that front line I would bet the new replacement loser is doing very well....

Re: BEARS

They have two RB's that split the time. Addai and Rhodes, they have as much yards added up together as Edge just a bit more. But you can't have an okay back with a good line and still expect them to do anything. Edge is a good back but he doesnt have a good O-line in arizona to run as he used to as he was in Indy. I'll say it again Shaun will not rack up as many yards as he did in prior years without Hutchinson. :-*

Re: BEARS

I know that the O-line is a huge part of it (Edge is a good example), but saying Shaun Alexander is nothing without Hutch (he is only one man) is kinda silly. Like I said if Chester Taylor goes 5 straight seasons averaging 1500 yards and 17.4 "rushing" touchdowns (he had 11 receiving through those 5 years), then I guess Shaun Alexander is nothing without Hutch, but I doubt that will happen.

Is 1,000 really that much though? A decent O-line with any starting running back that gets 20+ carries in each game should easily be getting 1,000+ yards a season (that's only averaging 62.5 yards a game).

Running backs that split time get more rest, so you can't just add their yards together, that's a big reason why Denver usually has two 1,000 yards rushers, if it was one guy I doubt he would be getting 2,000 yards each season.

Re: BEARS

Oh and the Colts running backs?

Domanic Rhodes... 273 yards and 3 touchdowns...
Joseph Addai... 269 yards and 1 touchdown...

Neither have had a 100 yard rushing game through 5 games so far.
