$40 dyno run, what all does that include?

MikeJ-2009 08-04-2004 02:13 AM

Re:Battle of the Imports(rice wars) 08/07/04

Wait, dyno runs?

I was "thinking" about going out to see the ricers in the bracket classes (only 16.99-slower though) but I didn't know there was dyno passes. :o

Thinking ;)

uhhhhp, wait. I think I am going. ;)

what about the dyno... what does that include yo

bambooseven 08-04-2004 03:14 AM

Re:Battle of the Imports(rice wars) 08/07/04

I'm gonna go. the dyno is just a run on a mobile dyno that will tell you peak hp/ tq and print you out a graph. no WB though, lame huh?

quadnie 08-04-2004 03:19 AM

Re:Battle of the Imports(rice wars) 08/07/04

not that I was going to go anyways, just wondering what was included with a $40 dyno run.

at the bottom of the page.. it says you get two pulls on the dyno, including air fuel.

Re:Battle of the Imports(rice wars) 08/07/04

I when about a year ago in FL, and I've tried to get it offically re-named "battle of the RWD, rotary powered, toyoda crollas". Its the worst event I've ever been to. The only cool car there was a starion with a 4G63 DSM motor running a T-Big turbo and some nitous. It won its class by letting off half way down the track...

Most the stupid cars there have insane clutches, huge slicks, and laungh at redline. SO they get this huge hole-shot then it takes them about 14 more seconds to get down the rest of the track...

Stupidest crap I've ever seen... I've been to nopi drag race events, fun ford weekend, all GTP/Camaro/Vette, and they were all at least 5 times better. ( Fun ford weekends ownz, even if you don't like mustangs/fords !! ).

Re:Battle of the Imports(rice wars) 08/07/04

I'm really not wanting to see the 3 hour long bracket classes, but I guess for being 10 mins from the house I will go.

Having second thoughts about being ready for that dyno. Dyno at 10 psi cause you havent' put any good couplers on your car? nah. I'd rather fix the small things and dyno at 15psi, but I'm not sure if I'll get all that stuff done.

bambooseven 08-04-2004 02:14 PM

Re:Battle of the Imports(rice wars) 08/07/04

steve, put the damn couplers on.

16.99 and SLOWER?!!? wow i could dominate in my moms buick

and steve get the cuplers take the ride and rep for the hmt

Re:Battle of the Imports(rice wars) 08/07/04

steve, i know your not going to use couplers as an exuse, cmon mang!!

Really must be a ricer fest i find it hard to beleive that the fastest "street" cars are both Hondas and are still in the 11's (respectable for a street honda). Where exactly are the dsm's to start working on this *boggle* time for sleep

Yeah, like I really want to go through another tech line again. ::) I'm just gonna take my time and go run 12.70's on the 21st. ;)

Running 15psi on the afc isn't something I think is all that good of an idea. I got my chipped pm6 today (thanks xenocron) so now I just have to hook up with Donald and see if we can tune this bitch. The car has got to go faster/safer with TE compared to the hack anyway. ;)

Re:Battle of the Imports(rice wars) 08/07/04

so you got hooked u p with xenocron..i was thinking of doing that. i guess ill have to see how your car runs with his work on that PM6...

MikeJ-2009 08-06-2004 09:56 PM

Re:Battle of the Imports(rice wars) 08/07/04

His work was just the pm6 with the zif socket. The chip is one that I had from EF9 that was made a while back. I think I'm gonna test it tonight. 8)

Today's the day, are any of you going? I wouldn't mind seeing you guys spank some ricers ;)

I'm not going either, my downpipe touches my new radiator. (not good) don't wanna chance driving on it.

Just got back. All the hype, shitty event. I think there were more show cars than drag entries. I heard a couple racers talking about how shitty of an event it was.

I got my car dyno'd on the dynopack. Air/Fuel wasn't working, but with guessing on the hack at 17psi I got 235.5 whp and 222.7 ft./lbs torque. Now I guess I need to tune the beeitch. ;D

I'm not sure. It's hard to tell with no WB sensor. The first run made 222.5 whp and it was misfiring and ----, so he told me to lean it out. 5k rpm + was leaned out to -39% on the afc (from original -34%) and it made 235.5 whp. Leaned out another 3% and it lost, so I'm not sure. With guessing on the afc and no WB, I pretty much got what was coming to me. :-\ Timing is retarded at the dist. only 3 degrees as well. ???
I'm working on the TE thing, I just have to figure out what the hell I'm doing. ;)

Re:Battle of the Imports(rice wars) 08/07/04

17psi on a stock map sensor and what do you expect? couldn't be tuned too well could it?

by statistics you shouldn't be making too much over 250whp at 17psi anyway. (1.16bar + 1 bar)115-ish N/A whp= 248.4 boosted whp)

those #'s don't surprise me at all.
