Dude read the spoeakers, KICKER COMP VRS Not to forget the enclosure is all fiberglass. It's maybe 6 pounds by itself.

Dude, get off your high horse and chill the ---- out. I wasn't attacking you(like you did to me). I was pointing out that you're weight seems a bit off. Most high end subs weigh more than 35 pounds so you saying that all 3 of your subs plus the box weighs that much is "laughable".


How exactly are you faster than me? Do you know me? Do you know what I drive? I don't see why you have to down on the 1/4 mile times on this site. This is the second time I have seen you do that and it's not cool at all. Settle down.

BTW, what does being self conscience have to do with anything?

Oh yeah, you know what my enclosure weighs because you've seen some other high end subs? LOl, I worked as an installer for quite a few years in the early late 80's early 90's. I installed all types of subs and weight is far from a factor in judging performance. (the magnet is pretty much only used for dampening. Though now days, most coils are far more efficient and most spiders are far superior to those used just 10 years ag0. SO magnet sizing has shrunk a considerable amount)
My enclosure weighs 37#'s, period.

I don't know you or your car, but I'd wager and say it's a small import. You probably have some swapped motor in it (or are trying to compile parts for such). You may have (or are trying to accomplish) a small turbo unit installed. You more then likely ran no faster then 13.2 @104 weighing in at 2700 or so.

If you don't get why I called you (or attacked as you stated) self conscience. Go look up the root meaning on the phrase and proceed from there.

Since you analyzed me, I'll analyze you.

You have a Ford Mustang GT. It probably weighs in at around 6500lbs with an empty tank of gas. You get around 2mpg. You have mild bolt-ons, which might even include a turbo kit. You use an FMU as fuel management. You think your car is the fastest thing that has ever hit the streets. You are a black man.

I always wanted a Blaupunkt deck until I bought one. what a piece of ----. There was so much line noise in the RCA outputs it sounded like complete ***. Don't start with "it was your install dude" because we troubleshooted the ---- out of it. I took that ---- back and got a Clarion ProAudio unit with preamp out only. It sounds like 234234243 times better.

Somebody up there said that sealed boxes require less power than ported. I do not think this is true. In my experience, for the same volume level, you need the MOST power for sealed, then ported, then bandpass. However, in terms of sound quality, BEST is sealed, then ported, then bandpass. Best bet is put lots of power behind a sealed box, and let 'er rip. Oh yeah and those "capacitors" are crap too. Just buy a decent amp and you won't need them.

Another thing is, don't ignore road noise. Both me and my friend have Clarion ProAudio head units, with Infinity components front and rear, and similar power output from our amps. His amp is actually better; it's an Alpine V12 and mine is a Kenwood. Unfortunately, his is in a Subaru Impreza and mine is in a BMW. My interior is much, much quieter and my setup sounds twice as good as his. Invest in some dynamat and you'll be happy.
