I think he was theorizing on living the full cash lifestyle. Which doesn't allow for online bill paying. You could just be a PITA and give a friend cash to pay your bills. I don't have a bank local to me at college, and I bartend so I have cash most often. I just pay my bills in person for everything I can most times.

my first bank (outside of a joint account w/ the rents) was with Wachovia, gayests bank ever. since they merged w/ First Union i figured i keep the account and see what First union was all about, even worse. At my old job every salary paycheck was the same amount to the penny the only check that was different was my commision. those ***** would hold my salary check for 10-12 days at a time even though the bank that it came from was 2 blocks away and my work was within eyesight.

after i got tired of that ---- i went to Chevy Chase (local DC area bank) never had any issiues since. online bill paying is gravy and they are quick with posting and processing transactions. and thier savings acount interest is pretty good (as long as you have $5k in it).

i've been thinking about a Credit union so i can buy a house but havent gotten off my *** to do it

Next auto loan was without a cosigner, only a year later, and they only charged 6.15% or less, can't remember, and they don't have fees for paying off early or anything like that.

I went to my bank today to argue about the $114 in NSF charges and I guess they don't offer overdraft protection, but I ------- swear the lady told me we had it and it was a $22 fee and I TOTLALLY remember the ------- conversation because she was talking about how the $22 fee was better than the $38 NSF fee. ------- *******. They offer free ATM use and reimburse you for fees other banks charge so I think I'm going to go around town and withdraw $20 out of every ------- ATM in town to make those ******* pay for that.

Do that for a week, deposit all the money you got out and repeat

Worst bank I've ever dealt with was Citizens. ATM card never worked, they "reset the pin" multiple times, then they said there must be a problem with the ATM card, took it from me and said I should get a new one in the mail... this was ~3 years ago, have yet to get one :P And they gave me ---- for closing the account, which pissed me off. ---- you Shadrika from Sri Lanka, dumbest ------- person I've ever had to deal with at a bank (and she was always working when I needed help of course)

My bank now gave me like 100 free checks, free checking and I've had no problems with them. I had a savings account from them when I was young, tried a few other banks and came back to them. Their CD rates and such are even better than the bigger banks.

My bank now gives me free checks for life and no fees for having an open account, but it seems they really want to ---- you on other ---- to make up for it. I'll just have to make sure I NEVER bounce a payment. The shitty thing is one of the $38 NSF charges was from me buying a ------- sandwhich at a gas station. A ------- $4 sandwhich cost me $38 extra.

I don't even have a checkbook

I agree that Credit Unions are the ----. Online bill payment, loan payment, ect. They don't rape you for anything. Plus there's a lady at the teller's counter named Mang.

ROFL waddup mang.

Some banks charge for checking? Redstone you just have to deposit $5 into your savings. I haven't heard anything from the bank that I financially raped (well, not really). I'm not going to act until I'm contacted about the money. They haven't sent me any letters or anything.

My credit union did ---- me once. I had a small transaction at a fast food place, just a few dollars. I had the minimum $5 in the savings account, which collected about $.02 interest the day before. Well, I was charged $7 for the food, then $3 to transfer my savings balance ($.02) to try and cover my negative balance, which it couldn't and I was charged another $30. So, I lost ~$40.02 for a sandwich and fries...
