Balljoint removal?

Ok. today, i have had problem after problem first i broke 1/2 socket wrench trying to get the axle nuts off. went to autozone and bought a 24 inch pry bar then broke said pry bar with a 4 foot bar attached. I put everything back together and went to friends dads ac shop and he had to hit it with the IR for about 1 minute and got it off. I put it back on where i could get off again. drove home every thing was going good again. Now i cant get the ------- ball joint off! I don't feel like putting every thing back on so i can go rent a ball joint splitter. friends are at work so no rides. I already tried jacking the ball joint and bracing the lower arm against the fender well and it just jacks up the car. I even ass bombed the fender to get it to budge with no prevail.
anyone know how to get a balljoint off with out the use of a pickel fork?
PLEASE HELP ME!
God i ------- hate clutch changes.

You can get a cheap fork for $5. I have a set with interchangeable forks and all, that wasn't even that expensive

DON"T USE FORKS. Easy way to rip the boot if you're not careful. I just take off the upper control arms from the chassis, but try this.

Jack up the knuckle and then put a wrench behind the ball-joint in between the lower arm and the knuckle.

Then remove the jack and step down hard on the rotor, stud, etc area and it will pry out the ball joint from the lower arm.

I always put a bar or a wrench across the LCA then grabbed the fender and push down on the bar going across the lca with my legs to get it off on hondas. If that's what you're talking about.

Autozone Loan-a-tool, you pay for it, keep receipt and return it, so if you decide to keep it you already paid for it, they have two of them the smaller one works for all the cars Ive used it on: 86-89 accord, 2gen crx, ek civics. NOTE: do not take bolt completely off just loosen a few turns, if not you will crush the nut where the cotter pin goes through and now you need a new ball joint.

Re: Balljoint removal?

I just got done about a hour ago. I changed the flywheel, clutch, tranny, and CVs. It might be simple to all of you but it was my first time and dam it was a bitch. My speedo dont work as of now but im going to weight till tomorrow to fix that.

On another note the clutch is awesome. ACT six puck UNsprung for the MOTHER ------- WIN. The flywheel is what i have to get used to. I got a 11 pound flywheel and that ---- makes my car a dog below 4 grand but i rode 1st gear out untill five grand and punched it and the tires spun WTF?

Guess how I finally got it off ?......

BFH :6

Good for you man! :) You'll catch on and driving an unsprung 6 puck sucks, haha. :y So WHY is your car slow before 4K because of a flywheel? Should be better and rev faster.

BFH = BigF'nHammer?

BFH=big f-ing hammer The car revs faster but the power comes in different My power band feels like it moved up a couple of grand. lol I like that it revs faster because the boost will come in sooner and i put in a dx tranny on because there better for boost the si trannys 1st gear is useless at 9 pounds . Well FELLAS ill tell you how the kit goes on tomarrow. This will all be worth it.

Why are you getting on it with a brand new clutch anyways? did you at least break it in some? I must have had done ten different ball joints with the fork and never ripped even one, but as soon as someone told me it could rip it, sure enough it did.

Re: Balljoint removal?

I got on it and then
rev matched the shift theres nothing wrong with that.

Breaking in a clutch is ricer-ish. That's like breaking in a used JDM engine. :1

the only bad thing that could come from not breaking in a clutch is clutch chatter, which is annoying as ----.

I've never broken a clutch in, and I've changed about 6 of them in different cars. ---- that ----, there's no way I can ------- wait to rip on a new project. >:D
