Badass SCCA Touring Car - Family Friend (9pics)

This belongs to Joe Hermes (well, it did when i took these pics years ago. He started with a 96 z28, then moved to two of these (this one had an in car fire) and he turned and sold it for $45K, now he's back to a camaro again) who is the neighbor to my brother-in-law's parents. We did some cage work for him in his old camaro at one time.

This car and its twin both cost $80K to build. Freakin insane.

Anyways, stumbled across pictures and thought I'd post em.

$80 times 2 = $160K

$160K minus Nissan Sponsorship = $0K. While he was in charge of actually getting the vehicles built, he didnt fork over a cent. Both of the Spec-V's were magazine/jd power type test cars, and had about 600 miles on them all track time. The tires at 600 miles were completely wasted.

Anyone happen to notice the authentic Nismo Wheels?

Before those he was running a late 90's Z28 camaro, and for a living he spends his time road testing new cars... basically take all these new cars out before they are put into production and runs the ---- out of them.

fun thing to do for a living huh?

its great hearing stories about how he almost put a g35 into a wall on an oval track.

Though I can't really understand your post because its mostly incoherent babbling, I did manage to get a little bit of it.

1. Companies pay him money to put those logos on the car as he runs it around SCCA Road Courses. There's a difference between race car sponsorships and some stupid kid stickering the ---- out of his Kia Sephia.

2. hahaha how does it feel fookie and its not a honda so ---- it I don't even know what you just said.

Those ain't spoon wheels. Those are nismo wheels. and spoon wheels are actually desmonds wheels. and alot of Nismo wheels are made by Volk. That thing will never be a se-r in my book. se-r=coupe and not having gay ass rear susp like the new fwd nissans have now. :-\ 80k and it's still NA. Well atleast he didn't pay for anything.

NA is required in the class he races in.

That's just the car cost, too. Include Crew costs, travel costs, entrance fees, etc... This ---- ain't your corner autocross event anymore.

And for being NA, Road Racing doesn't require a lot of power to pull quick lap times, it's all suspension and driver, mainly driver. ----, I beat a 96 GSR with I/H/E, H&R Springs w/ AGXs on Azenis in my 88 DX stock on 185-60/13 four year old tires. Power just makes up for lack of driving skill, but it won't fill the gap.

Nice car BTW, someday I hope to race that series...

Hell yeah! My buddy is on #4! Those motors are piles. The Japanese motors are supposed to be better than the Hybrid Jap/Mexican jobs. I still would never buy one.
