Backing up computer, need some help.

I wanna reformat my comp to get rid of all the old ---- i don't need get it back to new. I know the things i want to keep, like my movies and pictures and songs and ---- all need to be burned to discs, but thats where it ends. What else should i back up? I have games on my comp, but nothing im too attached to, or really even play. What should i back up? I know i need to get my favorites list, but i don't know what else.

Anything you'll regret later of deleting. Mainly I just save pics, documents, music, movies, and favorites when I reformat ----. Pick up an external hard drive for cheap and save yourself lots of time when backing ---- up. Or you can download a hiren's boot cd, open a partion program and create a new partion on the hard drive from some free space left on your current partion. Copy all the ---- over there and keep it there.
Have windows and programs on C: drive and all the documents on D:.

how valuable is your data? pics and whatnot are most valuable in your case. movies and music? nah. save them pics to solid state drive, and go to town.

move everything to My Docs, back up to a USB portable drive, I have a 300 GB portable, as well as a 400 GB and 500 GB powered external Seagates.

Internally I have a 40 GB for the main drive (C:) and a 400 GB for TV recordings and such.

about 1.5 TB :)

I had a huge loss of pics once, vowed it to never happen again!

Just an idea.........
