Default Auto Tranny Question

I have a 92 intgra I am going to boost it. I heard that as long as you keep the horse power under 200whp the auto tranny will be fine is that true. I know autos suck but I bought the car before the big import racing craze came to my area which was about 4 years ago. I only want to run 6 to 8psi tops I just need to compensate for the auto taking all my speed. Please let me know I really want to boost

why dont u just spend a few hundred bucks on an auto to manual swap?? it will be so much more fun to drive than an automatic turbo.

I'm pretty sure a stock tranny will take 200hp, just don't do anything stupid (like neutral drops), and change the fluid. You figure they made an auto GSR, so assuming they used basically the same tranny design, you ought to be ok. BTW, Level 10 can tell you for sure.

Heat kills auto tranny's. Get a Tranny cooler. It's pretty cheap and takes 30mins to install.

Thanks for the advice everyone I am going to keep it at about 180 to 190whp I have a tranny cooler already built into the teg do you want me to get another one as for the inpert craze I live in OHIO and really get stuff much later than the coasts trust me as for a manual swap don't want it I just want a fast auto. Maybe a next year I will get into doing that but I don't want a race car I just want more than 145hp so I light turbocharge would be ideal I dont want to go buy a ---- load of bolt ons when you get like 4 or 5hp. I would change my fluid like once a month any ways as for the spare tranny that you have how much you want for it
