Default Aussie V6 Turbo

Hey Guys - nice site - great for info!

I recently had a play with a home made turbo setup on my 1993 holden commodore.

Specs:
- 3.8L v6
- 5 speed maunal
- minispooled 3.08 ratio diff
- mystery turbo (compelte with massive shaft play)
- home made turbo manifold
- 38mm external wastegate
- 2.5" -> 3" dump with 3" zorst.
- boost controller @ 10psi
- 42lb injectors
- 2 bar MAP sensor
- stock home re-mapped ECU

The idea was budget boost - for a total cost of $AU 1300ish

Yet to get some power/speed specs... but the plan was to make it able to dry-drift - which it does reasonably well now.

( . Y . )

So far so good with the injector size - they're a little more than required, but that leaves room for error, right?

obviously their size has been catered for in the ecu remap.

4300 turbo v6? - google time for me, methinks.

lol

the car's a bit of a poo-barge either way.

It's had a long history from being stock standard, to supercharged + cooled, to being run on LPG, to now being turboed & drifted but I'll be saying my goodbyes to her shortly - so i can continue with my proper home made turbo setup on another car

^^ some testing and tuning drives with a few small issues. - mostly tuning issues, however there was a small few exhaust leaks before the turbo stopping it from spooling up real quick (that's my theory anyway) - seems to go a bit better now, but i'll put up videos of that later.

Some weight reduction interior - note no cup holders optioned.

Dodgy home-made-cut&weld-spec turbo piping progress

I also dirlled the sump for the return still on the car - but so far so good!
