I hear that everyday on the WRX fanatics website. It's always like, if I do this will it void my warranty?
They even have a sticky about what does and doesn't. There's only like 10 guys that really really know what they are talking about, and do their own work and provide good info. That's all you need those websites for. For everything else there's HMT.
