ATTN: del sol owners

my girlfriend is seriously thinking buying a del sol. will you please list all the positives and negatives you've come across while owning one to help her out? i personally don't like them, but she won't listen to me.
thanks!

I love mine, its a little bumpy, sometimes trucks and other big vehicles can't see you, not too much space for stuff in the inside (even tho it does have two cabin bins, they are small), trunk is large, never has any engine problems, still running after 115k+, the visors suck, they are too small and look pretty gay.

I have the SOHC 1.6 which is pretty damn slow stock, so I'd get the b16a if I were you(unless you plan on boosting it)

pros...small, 2 seater, good handling, style, good mpg

cons...small, 2 seater, insurence, even the Si is kinda slow.

i guess that isnt much help, but thats all i can think of right now.

Ha ha ha!!! Where do I start??? I think I have the only LEMON that Honda ever made.

My del Sol leaks through both windows/doors. The dome light flashes on when the body flexes, going up curbs is a big one! It squeaks in a million different places! Fast, it is not...sorta fast, it is also not! SLOW AS HELL...YA it is!!! :P I've had emission problems with mine also. I have the model with the little round auxilary lights, one of my burns out all the time. I've gone through at least 6 sets of headlights in a year.

However, I do LOVE the fact that I cruise around in a car with the top in the trunk! I get 35 mpg, which is nice too! Plus, it's just fun to be a blonde in a black convertible! The contrast is just so nice! ;) About it being small, just think, I put less miles on my car when a group of us are going somewhere, since we have to take someone else's car that can hold more than one person!

I read that they were pulled from the honda lineup do to hit or miss reliability and poor sales. Coupe was out selling it so they pulled it. I also heard that ones w/ the removeable top have water leak problems.

MY Sol survived at 89 GMC 3/4 ton pickup truck hit at 65 MPH and there was no druseage in the passanger compartment. it is a safe as hell car. There is plenty of JDM options for it was well like visors that dont suck and one piece headlights. get a DOHC VTEC one and save yourself some time. the SI is prety good too. dont bother with an S. cahcko is runnign a hybrid SOHC motor at 13 PSI ask him. its a good little car and i loved mine. i will get another sol soon.
