Default Appointment to change a fuse?!?!

I got a speeding ticket a couple weeks ago going out to the Hamptons... An 89 in a 55. I was honestly going like 70 the whole way and i saw the sign for the exit and i sped up and the cop was right behind the sign for the exit. So i decided ---- that i'm not paying anymore tickets for ---- thats pointless. In the acura there is a fuse that turns off the guages so i just pulled it and shorted it out. I brought it to acura to have them change it and print up a little reciept and letter that said that it wasn't working. They go "we're gonna need the car for a day to do a thorough inspection". How crazy is that?? I was about to ask them to just print up a reciept and have do it myself. If i can get them to do this before the court date the ticket will just get dismissed. Along with two other speeding tickets i got in the Ac... :P I never brought a car to the dealer to get service so is this normal?! Thats some bullshit if it is. Oh yea theres absolutely no point to this thread it was just a little shocking to go there and tell me to come back in almost a week for a single fuse that i shorted out in the middle of the road.

You think so?? The dealer i went to was the one where my sister bought the car and it's like supposedly the most prestigous. This lady pulled out a leather book to write my name down in for an appointment, it was kinda like a doctor type thing. Even if the wires aren't screwed up they still have to write that the guages weren't working at one point for them to be fixing it....right?
