yeah, there is a big problem with assholes who surf for kiddie porn this way because it is not as easily traceable back to them. they caught a guy in toronto last year in his car with his pants around his ankles and kiddie porn on his laptop outside someone's house on the street. i say we kill them all. >:(

I've got a wardriving setup. The craziest thing we did, was when we were caravanning out to RubiCon in detroit. We had two vans, with 14 people total. We had an 802.11b connection between the vans. And then one van had an uplink to the internet through a Nextel fone. The uplink was shared to the other van via 802.11b.

And then during bermanator's install. I hopped on someone's linksys and looked up some info.

I just love the idea of having internet anywhere you go. ---- dunno if you guys heard of VOIP(voice over IP) but you make phone calls over the internet. Well they have a phone now that if you can get a wireless internet connection you can make a call right then. I'll find a link and show you guys.

Well I can garantee you I am not surfing kiddie porn. Now porn porn hell yeah. I put a cap on my downloads so I dont take all their bandwidth cause they would see that something is going on and figure me out.

Yeah I was checking out internet through T-Mobile(my wireless carrier) but the connection is 56K speed and it aint worth the extra $20/month and $200 modem card. What kind of speed you get out of nextel internet ----?

I took part in the first wardrive contenst at defcon 10 :)

It is fun.

And for 61miles...

Some russians bounced 802.11b off of a satellite and got it over 350miles.

and they were having a distance contenst at defcon too and they were shooting the signals across vegas on basic setups.

so much for 300ft limit of 11b

I know someone who has a touchbad LCD in their civic. The've got it hooked up to a comp in the trunk with a super crazy wireless card/antenna set up. In most areas where there would be people with wireless set ups you can connect to them. So pretty much you can drive around in any medium to large sized city and be surfing the web on the dashboard. Its crazy.

about 3 years ago when 802.11b first became a standard, my friend and I had this entire city mapped out using a mapping program, a Garmin GPS and AirSnort back when it was first released. I haven't done anything since then though. That was back when the Orinoco Gold card was like $150. Good times.
