2jzge is real strong. just like the 3sge. all he needs to do is swap over factory parts. ive seen 400hp on stock short block turbo 3sge's so you should be able to hit 550 no problem with proper tuning. plus if it blows up you can pick up a 2jzgtte for a grand and make all the power you want

3sge only was in america for 2 years. came in 86-87 celica gts'es the first gen 3sge's wich were 140hp dohc closed deck cast iron tvis system (like butterfly valve system on h22's) same crank as 3sgte's same valve system and ---- just diffrent rods/pistons, but there all over the rest of the world. the mid year ones are about 175hp they put them in altezzas in japan still. and some of the other celicas but usualy thoes were beams 3sge's with vvti also came in sw20 mr2's 200-210 hpish the ones that are strong as ---- are the first and second gens. because after that now they have switched to alumnium blocks

You can do it, I've played with the 7m's in the older stupra's, if they are made like that then the real difference is the pistons. Just do a headswap, since your head has a dizzy and the turbo is coil packs, plus the injectors and from what I can remember the intake mani is different as well. Runs the turbo cpu and all should be well.

I was doin some research.... everything in the 2jzge works mint for turbo up to 550rwhp with a 3mm headgasket on a sp61 turbo. Just turbo, fmic, fuel pump, injectors, 3mm hg, and fuel computer. In an automatic car = low 11s.

Also research "1JZ-GTE" swap its the same JDM engine that comes with your car/soarer in Japan in the early nintys before the 2jz's.... its pretty much a "bolt-on" affair with the only major problem being lengthening the engine harness to accomidate a non right-hand drive ECU layout....
it makes about 30-40 hp less the the 2JZ, but thats just because they used smaller turbos, it has the same bottom end and a different head as far as my understanding goes....
Just research....this has all been done before and I thnik that this is a pretty common swap
