I'm thinking about buying a Ford Ranger. I want a 6cyl 93+ thinking about 4WD but probably only a 2WD

I want to know what the gas mileage is like on a 4cyl cause i see lots of cheap ones. So if anyone owns one or know someone that does, let me know. Thanks

my cousin used to own one...I think he got pretty decent gas mileage. Weak ass trucks though. Get an F150 or F100.

I had a 93 Ranger 4x4 v6 and id get like 19-23ish mpg. Right now i have a 83 ranger 2wd with a 4cyl. The 93 ranger i had was a great little truck never had any probs with it.

I had a 93 splash ranger with the 4cyl and 4spd with overdrive, nice little truck got great gas mileage, but no cup holders, Its hard to drive and drink a big gulp at the same time when your constantly shifting. It was good to me probually cause I took really good care of it. Right after I sold it the guy I sold it to had a ton of problems but he did'nt keep up maintnance.

I have a 93 tacoma 4cyl 2wd with cup holders, yours for only $4200 US picked up. I get about 22-25 mpg.

i was gonna buy a 97 6cyl 5spd red cab step side for $8000 can. with 50xxxmiles but i decided its not what I want.
I want an extended cab but alot of them are 4bangers. I think i should get the 6 though :)

I currently have a 97 ranger 2wd with the v6. i picked it up for $2400 with only 65k on the clock. Its my daily driver when my DSM breaks down. I get pretty damn good mpg, easily 400 miles on a tank....alot better than the 10mpg i get in my dsm.... >:(

is it stnd. or auto my step dad has an auto 6cyl '00

i just want to know if the 4 is a guttless dog like the S10 and if the ford 4cyl gets better mileage then the S10

I had a 93 2x4 it was a pice of ----. Gas mileage was 21 per gal but it was gutless.
If u get one get a 4x4 more power.

the ones with the 4.0l v6 have dana 35 front axles 8.8 rear (same as f150) and the good 5 spd. They are pretty tough. I had a 91 with 11 inch lift and 35 inch swampers never broke anything.

I just bought a 91 Ranger this week for a beater

Its the 3.0L V6 2WD though, mother fuckers getting flat blacked as soon as I finish banging out the tailgate

Get an older ranger and swap in a turbo'd 2.3. I've seen 11's out of those motors in a car that weighd more that 3000lbs, and it was a stock bottom end on pump gas.

civic cant drive though snow or tow ----. sucks to be traped for a week because theres 15 inches on the ground.

I cruised a mid 90's ford ranger 4 cyl 2wd for awhile, manual tranny, thing got pretty dang good gas mileage.
I could toss in 10 bucks and be done with it for a week :o not to mention trucks are always nice to have to haul ---- with.

We took it out and beat the ---- out of it last night. It's a stout little truck. $5400 U.S

Rangers have nice suspension setups for off-roading. Some of the baddest pre-runners I've seen were Rangers.

Yeah, I actually found it, but didn't have the cash to pick it up. :-\ It's a nice little truck. Those tires are way too fuckign big for it. They rub like a mother fucker when you turn. I thought we were going to rip the fenders off the fucker last night. :-X

One bad thing about it.......it's been rolled. It's all 100% fixed, but it has a salvage title. Other than that it's fuicking sweet. :)

12.50 X 15 aluminum rims with 325 X 50 R 15 Tires and a Rancho lift with coilovers. Those tires look like they belong on an old Monte Carlo with curb feelers.

Bah, ---- a ranger. My brother worked at a ford dealership, and he drove a brand new (bad ass) toyota pre-runner quad cab...so he traded the 'yota for the Ranger in search of a cheaper monthly payment. What he got - was stuck in the sand at the beach and a payment similar to the one he had. Long story short he took the fucker back and got a F150 and hasn't had problems since.

i just want a small truck that i can throw a dirt bike in the back and move ---- around with reasonable gas mileage and i can still play in the mud with

buy a f250 and raise the thing 5 feet up. theres about 4 monster trucks running around greenville that probably never see mudd. if your gettin a truck i say make sure you can beat the hell out of it.

what year is that tacoma your roomate bought? it's a 93-97 just like mine. I have bigger than stock wheels and they rub when I hit bumps, it I wasn't selling it and I had money I'd put a lift kit on it and turbo it.

i owned a 89 ranger v6 2wd as my first car,,, i had the 5 /7 drop on her with 18s.... mlemme find a pic of hr. there not bad trucks

check out rangerpowersports.com they have some suped up rangers running supers and turbos. rangers are nice, make sure to weight down the rear end though cuz its light and will slide around easily.

turbo kits are tricky on the v6s and the whipple supercharged will work fine but on i think its 1995 and earlier it needs to be modified to work on the older engines
