All in all the 4G63 is a pretty solid motor. Everything that is attached to it is a ------- pile of ----.

It's a 98, wich means it has thrust washers, wich means crankwalk is not a big issue like in the early model year 2g's. As far as a tranny job goes, it's ------- cake. A dsm tranny job can be wipped out in an afternoon if you've got a buddy with you. More than likely, the car is a bad master/slave, the release fork is bent/broke (common problem), or the throw out bearing exploded. Some of the ACT clutch kits come with an aftermarket ACT brand throw out bearing that is a plasic piece of crap that I see explode all the time. Worst one I ever saw took out a piece of the tranny case with it. You can buy a new throw out bearing by itself, just call a mitsu dealership. They're not terribly expensive either. Go check the car out, if it's in decent shape pick it up. That's deffinatley a good deal for a 2g

as for the throw out bearing i figured just to be safe i would get it allong with the fork and maby a master cyc i found them online oem for cheap and the junkyard has a 1997 eclipse that was rearended if there is a drive train problem i can just get parts from the eclipse for cheap i may even buy a tranny to have a spare and the engine out of the one in junk yard so i can build up a 2.3l stroker over the winter nothing crazy just 2.3l stroker, 8.8cr,hx35,264/272cams and some like 720cc injectros should be good for arround 400whp

building a stroker motor for 400WHP is retarded. actually, even opening up a stock DSM motor for 400whp is retarded.

400whp is just a starting point i was thinking about
i don't even know if i will wanna do anything internally but either way i like the idea of getting a second engine just incase i blow this one up even tho the guy says it was rebuilt 50k miles ago

i honostly think a 16g and some boltons and a tune and i'll be happy with 325-350hp
