i'm considering buying some stocks online. It seems like a simple concept. but the problem is i know people who have lost thousands. but i know people who have made thousands to. I was only planning on buying a few hundred dollars worth but i don't know if i should risk it.

 

err thats the age old question. there is no exact way to always make money. if you're good/lucky you can make money, but if you have money to begin with you can always gain just because you can buy such a diversity of stocks.

you can let someone manage you portfolio or you can do it yourself with some websites. if you want to make some money quick buy some stocks that are low and then sell them when they gain .5 point or a point or something.

Its not as easy as you think.. your just going to make a quick couple hundred and then get out right? Dont you think if it was that easy everyone would be doin it? Plus.. unless you buy close to a thousand shares or more.. whether it goes up 1 point or even 2.. you wont make jack.. plus there are many charges to sell and "get out" and take your money.. its not worth it... just work overtime

 

yeah I agree... You can't make a quick $200 unless you are investing some large amounts of money. Even if you have a large amount of money, you will need to invest it wisely to make large gains, if any at all...

 

I've done some investing, and like delsolman said, unless ur buying in large quantity's you really can't do much, however if you have alot of $$$ to spend you can make thousands in the run of a day if ur Lucky..
I currently have 600 Shares of Nortel that i bought at $1.37, pretty happy, cuz now they're up to over $4.00

 

Dont forget about the Capital Gains Tax, which is 40%. Gotta factor that into the equation.
