Re: anyone here try to pressure fry fried chicken?
Ive got a deep fryer to. ive done a shitload of turkeys. didnt do mine this year, but I regret it hardcore. ***** good. I got mine from walmart for like $60 never let me down once. done fish, shrimp, chickens, turkeys, all kinds of food.
doing it in the house...last place I would do it. Last year, I did a huge bird, like 25lbs and miscaculated the amount of oil, and that ---- spilled over...went all over the place. could have gotten real scary real fast. your pretty retarded if your gonna do that ---- inside IMO. AT LEAST do it inside a garage. burning down my house isnt worth a turkey.
also, where did "pressure cooking" ever come into this? its deep frying. if this is pressure cooking, then french fries at McDonalds is also pressure cooked. :P

my t-fal pressure cooker fell off a shelf. and its dented.. so i cant use it to pressure fry anymore. so im asking if anyone has ever done it using one of the modern pressure cookers.. cause i went to costco and sears.. and all the new pressure cookers look scary as ----.
i have no idea how this evolved into a turkey fry thread

i cant really think of any cooking oil that produces pressure enough to explode.
this evolved into a turkey fry thread because frying a turkey and frying a chicken are one in the same. kinda like ------ a blonde and ------ a bruinet. still a ----.

its not about pressure tho. its about the heat. heat generated by hot oil under pressure is alot more than heat generated by food/water
so it supposidly gets hot enough to burn right through the seals which would over heat the lid and cause an explosion? which would ignite pretty damn quickly. and cause a flash fire.. supposidly... sounds iffy.. but if it werent so dangerous wouldnt alot more people be doing it?
damn it. i just want my pressure fried chicken. and i just needed some advice to see if anyone had tried it on any of the newer pressure cookers.
i guess ill just have to go out and buy one and try it myself
