Anyone heard of a SOHC Zc?
 

I was talking to this guy today that said he knows sum1 that wants to race. I asked the kid what he had and he said an SOHC ZC. Now maybe i have just missed that through all my work on imports but i honestly have never heard of it. If that is an engine the only thing i could guess is a JDM SOHC Vtec motor.

Can anyone help and would my 94 integra b18 non-vtec give it a run?

he's either pullin your leg, or really confused... even the JDM ZC motors were DOHC and had an optional LSD!

lol, sounds like you're getting some retarded hear-se.

He probably mixed it up, its probably a DOHC ZC motor, as there never was to my knowledge, ever a SOHC ZC unless it is european.

Your right, none of those engines you posted are vtec... But they do make a JDM/EDM Sohc ZC vtec..

Rare as ----, but they have them..

Sohc ZC's?! I've seen so many of those. As a matter of fact guy was selling his CRX HF and said he swapped out the 1.5 motor for another 1.5 motor, but it was really a SOHC ZC. I've seen just as many of those as DOHC ZC's, if not more. They are also cheaper in price compared to the DOHC. Some people have argued that the SOHC ZC has more torque than the DOHC. I dunno, I really don't care, I like the idea of a twin cam ZC motor ;D.

Hey jeff, you said that the SOHC ZC Vtec's are rare? I would like one of those, but I was thinking do you think if you but a Z6 or Y8 head on a sohc ZC block you would get similar power? I think I have actually seen one SOHC ZC Vtec in my life, yeah his red civic was vtec, but he had ZC stamped on it. If this really is the ZC vtec, i feel honored. :P

just like how a SOHC ZC is just like a D16a6
