My live subscription just ran out and have some friends wanting to play. I can't run to the store to grab a card right now :X Anyone happen to have a free trial card they don't need?

make a new gamertag, sign up for silver account..go thru all the screens and you will get a month free of gold..

You don't need to go to the store anyways, you can purchase it online with a credit card.

I'm that uber cheap nog that likes the one free month you get from buying it at the store. Online it's just 12 months not 12+1 right?

Yes, xbox's get 3 gamertags (silver), of which they all get a trail month of gold.
