It's nice for the fact that you don't have a wire to untangle everytime you want to use a headset, but I'm more comfortable with just holding the phone.

Re: anyone fix cell phones??
This stupid thread got me to finally take apart my POS VX5200 to fix the speaker that is broken from being in my pocket as I rode my bike home in the rain. Speaker phone would work but not the "small" speaker. Any keypad noises wouldn't work as well. Anyway, took it apart to find it was simply 2 speakers in 1 box. So I play around with things a bit, damn wires snap off seeing as they are 100000 gauge. Now I have to buy a stupid ear piece, a phone and swap out a good speaker, or just solder this one back in and deal with it for a month until I get another new phone.
Eh, we'll see what I choose soon enough.

heheheheh vx5200, POS indeed. They are one of those phones you get "free with a contract."
I sold 200 of them earlier this year, I think for 30-50 each.
Just make sure you don't get a motorola, IMO they are the worst phones and continually increase in their shittiness.

It would be easy to fix. It's just a couple wires that need soldering. Personally I'd just go with a wired headset until the contract was up and I could get another free phone. I don't know how verizon works, but I know with cingular and tmobile, you can get another free phone before the contract is up depending on how much revenue they've got from you. If you're only 2 months from ending a 1 year contract, or 3-4 from a 2 year contract, try calling them and demanding a replacement phone...you'll just have to sign another contract.
