anyone ever heard of kaizo industrys?

kaizo industrys is a company that makes brand new 2008 r34 skylines,supras,s15's,and r33 skylines

they call it a "kit car" but in all reality is an old reman unibody with everything except the engine, tranny, suspension, brakes, wheels, tires and a couple things here and there like wiring and such but thats what ebay is for
anyway from what i understand this is the only way to own a skyline in the states the was not imported by motorex
heres a link
http://www.kaizoindustries.com/uni/index.php
this is how the car is shipped from japan
http://www.kaizoindustries.com/uni/i...e/DSC04113.JPG

and for absalutely no reason at all here is a link to annother forum full of ritch kids selling their us legal skylines for a major premium over the 6-15k us dollars r32-r33gt-r's are going for in japan and still more than the 38-50k us dollars r34ft-r's are going for

You don't understand much. Of the 7-8 Skylines I have seen, ridden in, or driven in the western NC/upstate SC area, exactly zero came from Motorex.

What do R32 and R34 have to do with US legality? Those cars are illegal to have on American roadways as no one (motorex) ever had the DOT perform impact testing on anything except R33. I've explained this all before, but you seem to be too stupid to understand.

Sounds like a waste of time for a heavy, slow, stock car.

Rode in a friends 92 GT-R yesterday, he said he has even had issues crossing the border into the US with his car.

Skyline is common here in Toronto, as are GTiR Pulsars and other jdm crap.

I like the GTiR's a lot, shame they have junk transmissions.

Seems like a viable, low(er) budget option if you HAVE to have a Skyline. :-\

they are sold as kit cars and being as such they do not need to have them crash tested becasue as far as the dmv is concerned they are just selling a pile of metal and fiberglass (read in the sites faq)
and being as such when you put in the drivetrain to make it a complete car you register it as a custom vehicle or kit car witch makes it surpass crash testing, emissions and everything (i think you can even get away without seatbelts if you say it's a "classic" or "historical" vehicle but i may be wrong about that, its just like all the people that build choppers and ---- they don't have to crash test the frames and ---- because the companys are not selling them as complete ready built bikes (witch would make them a dealer) but as pieces that you can put together as a whole
like on kaizo's site says if you don't have to make the shell in to a car you could easily just keep it as a shell but there is no reason to buy a shell with no plans of making it a car

Stop referring to Kaizo's ------- sales pitch. Log onto one of the Locost/kit car mailing lists on yahoogroups, or one of the dedicated web forums and educate yourself.

Most DMVs are populated by cock lunchers who enjoy saying "no" and will let you spend thousands to ---- you on the deal. If you are persistent you will find a stupid cow at the title desk who lets you register a MIG'd together pile of mild steel tube with a 175K mile 4A engine as a '67 Lotus - doesn't ------- mean that's how it should be titled. This ---- is the wild west, and THE only way of reducing your chances of taking it in the ass to a mere 20% is to approach the local DMV 6+ months in advance and explain what you want to do, show pictures, etc, and talk to them three times before you roll the dice.

This is a matter of basic vehicle ownership, and if you haven't done it STFU n00b.

hmm could I get rich by sending over skylines in shipping containers and selling them to rice boys?? I need to get rich, and I need soem ideas.

Tom-Guy 10-21-2008 11:29 AM

Re: anyone ever heard of kaizo industrys?

You ship the body in one container "as parts" and the engine in another container "as parts" so that the car isn't siezed in customs. If you go through enough of them, expect them to catch on and some of your containers will be sifted with a fine tooth comb and/or siezed.

Again, this is based off of real world experience I have not reading web sites telling me it's easy because they are trying to sell me something.

You have 50K+ to invest. Its not has easy has you think. Have you linked at container pricing etc from Jap Land :y. The shipping bills kills some uber profits. Then you have to know who/how what to do to make them legal which isnt info just given out

People who want rhd cars I can get them/register them 100 percent legit.

Disagree. Ten hours on the phone asking pointed questions of public servants, and perusal of several DMV handbooks, reveals all.

If you mean you have to be average intelligent and not a -----boy, then I agree. :P
