Anyone ever had wheel bearing go bad in there civic?

I have a 1990 civic si and i am hearing a woomph woomph woomph from the left front wheel, i have checked everything, the sound sounds like the brake pad is rubbing against the rotor, but only makes this noise when the wheel is turned to the left, and when the wheel is straight no noise, it is weird...it doesnt appear the rotor is warped they are new like 3 monthes new, and new pads...just wondering what this could be is seems to be getting louder, and it started off really faint..i think it might be wheel bearing... ??? thanx guys.

I had a weird noise like that once and I thought it was a wheel bearing, but it turned out to be a ball joint. It was a brand new ball joint, but I put it on too tight and it was making a crazy noise when I turned. Just a thought......

DO NOT drive your car if you knwo your wheel bearing is fucked

I was at lapping day at Shannonville last weekend up here in Ontario.

This white eg, b16 swap, coming out of the last turn and down the straight, passed me going about 100, 100 meters down the track it just ------- jerked dead left, right into the wall

Car was a ------- mess, driver had to be cut out, car is a total loss, what happenned? WHEEL BEARING took a ----

The dumbass even knew, he said he was gonna get that fixed shortly, but I guess tracking it was more important...

The officials were talking about they being able to sue him for the damage done to the barrier and fence since he knew the car was not safe to drive

Still scary how he was in total bliss going down the straight, .5 seconds later, hitting a wall at 45 degrees

my brother`s civic had bad/bent suspension on one of the back tire. it has like 4 degree POSTIVE camber. and the tire would just ride on bearings.
we have to change the bearng like once a year to keep it moving ::) :P

front wheel bearings usally change noise like come and go if you turn left to right, they are two roller bearings sandwiched together so your loading up inner to outer when swerving. Fix it soon ;)

my front and rear camber is way off is this cause the bearings. car has 407,000miles and isnt lowered.

My wheel bearing took a ----, and i drove on it for a few weeks. Never froze up, but when i ewent to replace it, i found i needed a new spindle, it ate the walls up, and now that i have a new bearing, it still has play. Replace them before they get too bad.

dude that wrecked his civic at the track is a dumbass, you don't admit that to officals, you brag about your stupidity after you leave the track and go home.

Re:Anyone ever had wheel bearing go bad in there civic?

I just replaced my left rear hub cause the bearing was shot. It made whirring noises that increased with speed for about a year. I finally got tired of it so I had to get a whole new hub cause the bearing itself is not serviceable. We had to cut part of the ---- off because I waited so long to fix it, but now its quiet as, ummmm, well lets just say its quiet now. ;D

I had a girlfirend that had the same issues that you just described, I fiugred it was going to be a CV and bought a new pair of axels.
got over there to get to work on it and found it was just the tire lugs wernt tight enough and it was the tire bumping. it started out just slightly loose so it was fine going stright but made noises when turning.

I think my girl needs new axels too. She squeaks when she walks around.

Re:Anyone ever had wheel bearing go bad in there civic?

well then your new calipers are deemed useless if you upgrade the front.

The Bearing has to be pressed out. it can be hit back in with a swedge and a hammer, but to get that bitch out without ------- the walls, take it(the knuckle) to a local repair shop and have them press it out most charge like 10-15 bux, if you go ask a tech they usually do it for free. :)
