Anyone ever had their car stollen?

Well Thursday my car was stollen at 2:00 AM. The cops knocked on my door at 3:00 AM asking me if I had let anyone use my car. I told her no. She said it was on a high speed chase of over 100 mph. I couldn't believe it until I went out to see that it was really gone. The officer that chased my car called me up to see if I wanted to know the details. I just asked him what happened. He said he herd my car before he saw it. Another car and mine went on the onramp at high speeds. Him and another squad car followed them. Those stupid fuckers were racing each other not knowing there was two squad cars behind them. The Cops turned on thier lights and my car took off. The cop said he couldn't catch up to him. I think that cop must of been driving an Impala. He said he was doing over 125mph and still couldn't gain on him. I thought that was kinda weird. I just droped in a D15B vtec motor with a Borg Warner T3/T4 Diesel turbo. Those fuckers tried to exit since they had a big lead on the cops, probably hoping the cops wouldn't see them and keep going cause the Highway had a big curve where the exit was. They exited too fast and couldn't stop, went over the medium of the crossing street and fucked up my body kit and 17" rims. Even the turbo fell off and is all fucked up. The T3 flange snapped right off of the stainless steel manifold. Air bags came out and everything. The roof of the car was even bent. It's pretty much totaled. I have full coverage but do you guys think the insurance company will cover all the mods that I done to it. I added all the major parts and it was like over $4000. Last time my car got stollen they took my charge pipe and stereo. My charge pipe had a 2nd gen. BOV on it. I got an estimate for it at an eagle dealership and it was $315. My insurance company actually covered it. They were wondering why a DSM part was in there and I explained it to the guy. I just hope they cover all the ---- I put down or else I'm going to strip all my ---- out of there. I'd rather they just pay for everthing though. Well if anyone has ever ran into a situation like this let me know how it went for you and give me any tips you can on how NOT to let the insurance company screw you over. Thanks.

Good luck. I have never heard of an insurance company covering aftermarket parts. You will probably get low blue book(if that) for the stock car. Sorry to hear about it. :-\

Well they have one of the guys in custody. It was the guy in the get away car. There were two guys in my car. After the crash they escaped on foot. They must of had a good lead on the cops cause when the cops got there all they found was my car wrecked with a screw driver in the ignition. Hope they fine that guy up the ass to pay for all the damages.

Re:Anyone ever had their car stollen?

I had my winter beater car stolen. I 1980 caddy with 45,000 miles on it original. I walked out it was gone I live ina town that has 10,000 people in it. Found it the next day completely stripped the took out glass and everything in under 12 hours. But they never found out who it was; saw the shell sittin on center blocks on the side of the road. I bought it for 1500 got 4800 for it so I was happy. As for after market parts you are screwed I have insurance that covers my aftermarket stuff but it cost 200 a month. I even have a perfect driving record! I would suggest you get the factory parts to swap or you might not get your aftermarket parts either.

Mine hasn't been stolen....yet. I know the day is coming because everyone I know has had their cars stolen.

I am surprised that after your car was stolen the first time you didn't put on a fuel pump kill switch or something.

Sorry to hear about your story.

Only problem is, they didnt catch the actual drivers of his car, only got the other guy, but i don tknow how the system works, maybe they can just sue the guy they got.

Re:Anyone ever had their car stollen?

Oh, sorry I ment to say the first time my car was broken into not stolen. I have an alarm on it but my wife lost one of the remotes and my remote broke. I've been spending all my money on keeping the car runing right with the turbo in it. My D16Z6 piston rings burned up along with the rod bearings, so I just recently replaced it. I wish I would of bought that new remote before I threw on those new set of tires.

Re:Anyone ever had their car stollen?

I just relocated my kill switch, it was in a fairly obvious place where you could see it if you looked for a while for it, now it's hidden pretty good. I also keep my car very dirty and leave in the torn up seats, plus it's stock so far (B16A in the works).

I think that's hilarious that the cop couldn't catch your car.

Re:Anyone ever had their car stollen?

american family insurance covers anything bolted down.. just keep all receipts and you will be fine. they do a 10-15% "depreciation" on all aftermarket stuff. but thats ok b/c they get some fucked up quotes.. they gave me $450 for 1 18" chrome rim on my truck. i paid 1500 for the set.

I would not have my b16a if someone didn't break into my car.

Re:Anyone ever had their car stollen?

Hey ZexRex, tell me a little more about your story. I am insured through American Family too. I hope they pay for all my ---- plus the car. I don't really have any receipts though, since I bought everything from ebay. what do I do about that. My turbo was brand new. 6.5L GM Chevy T3T4. I got it for 190 shiped. Lucky me, If they were to get a quote on that it will be like $1000. Do you think they will cover it since it was bolted on. What about my Tokico adjustable shocks and my Skunk 2 coilovers. I only had them for about a year. Will they cover things like that?

Re:Anyone ever had their car stollen?

get your reciepts or get new ones made for all the aftermarket parts, they wouldn't replace some of my stuff but it came to a pretty even quote, i still lost money tho. for example the subs were scratched so they replaced em but the capicators were destroyed and they said they could be fixed and didnt pay for em... i dont get it, no matter what dealing with insurance sucks.

my first car got stolen when i was 17, it had full coverage, but my insurance company only gave me about half of what it was worth. how can they get away with that? there's no way i could have gotten the same car with the tiny check they cut me. insurance really sucks!

hell yeah... it really sucks..

Thats why you have one of your friends steal your car for you in a public place... take it to their house far away... report it stolen strip the ---- out of it and ditch it somewhere . and sell the parts... then with the money the inssurance company will give you.. buy the car back and put it ack together or buy something better and with the money from the stollen (i mean your parts). get a better engine.. turbo ... whatever...

Just dont get caught...

Re:Anyone ever had their car stollen?

umm thats a major felony but if you got a chop shop go for it.

i pretty much believe everythin happens for a reason. if my stereo didn't get stolen i couldnt afford my turbo kit.

what comes around goes around, the theives have it comin back to them 10x. right now all i can do is keep them from gettin anything again. and if i ever catch em i will take the 6g's out of their face.

Re:Anyone ever had their car stollen?

I installed a fuel pump kill switch on my car now. I have the alarm and kill switch is it even possible to drive the car off now. You guys make it seem like its not a sure fire way. How are they ganna drive off when you have no fuel?? Is there ways for theives to get pass this? cause i wanna make sure they dont!

Re:Anyone ever had their car stollen?

if the kill switch is inside the car they are gonna find it, not to hard..

Dimchik23 06-12-2003 03:40 PM

Re:Anyone ever had their car stollen?

They will find it unless you are smarter then they are there is always a way to make that ---- unseen don't make it abvious if you have to use your existing acsesory switches and convert them in the kill swithes i mean there is so many things you can do it will take them hours to track that ---- don't maybe even longer but who the hell is going to spend all this time looking for a kill switch?

Re:Anyone ever had their car stollen?

Well I put all my receipts together and it was over $5000. I'm suppose to hear back from the insurance some time next week. Hopefully I'll get a nice amount of money back. I'm just going to use it for a down payment on a brand new car. I'll post my insurance check amount when I get it.

Re:Anyone ever had their car stollen?

Josh, your a moron just cause they have a kill switch doesnt mean they can find it. There is some good spots you can hide them!

Re:Anyone ever had their car stollen?

Well, American family gave me $6300. I receive $5800 after the deductible. I'm losing a lot, but I guess that's not too bad for a car that has over 170,000 miles on it. I can buy it back for $900 but I don't think I'm gunna. Too much work to part out the car. I'm just gunna make a down payment on the Honda Element now and maybe put a turbo on it :)

Yes, and its also easy to bypass a kill switch... just put a direct positive to where it needs to be.
