Anybody know the nsx platform?

Is the trans on the somewhat like that of a front wheel drive since the engine is in the rear?

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

yes it is like a fwd ;)

youngbuckfab 10-08-2004 09:32 PM

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

well i mean is since the engine is turned sideways coudlnt you technically put it in the front of the car if u use the same drivetrain???

Dr.Boost 10-08-2004 09:36 PM

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

Why would you do that? Make a RWD car a FWD car? ??? Do you not like traction? ???

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

no i wouldnt do that to an nsx, id acquire an nsx motor and drive train and TRY to install it in a civic or accord, with the extensive amount of work

kain 10-08-2004 09:51 PM

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

some shop did that to a crx. put a totally stock nsx motor in a crx and pulled 11's with a totally stock airbox and exhaust and everything.

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

thats converted to rwd im hoping i can through it in the front of a civic or accord

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

they did that to a ek hatch in superstreet. the hood had some raised cowl so it would clear the motor. but seems like a waste to me when you can just bullet proof a b18 w/boost and rip out 500+ horses out of it.

willahlborn 10-09-2004 02:13 AM

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

yeah, especially when compared with a b18 the nsx engine is like... a gazillion dollars???? :o

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

NSX = 290 HP.

right??

nots not ------- majic that it is a NSX motor. whtoopy ----. there are plenty of turbo 4 clyinders that make more than 290hp and 270 or whatever torque...

bambooseven 10-09-2004 05:07 AM

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

it'll likely bolt into a v6 accord.

youngbuckfab 10-09-2004 10:52 AM

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

yea I know I can build another 4 cylinder to make more power but Im not looking for how much power I can get. Plus, I probably wont even do this I just thought of it and wanted to see if it would work. ID rather spend the money on a civic hatch or a two door cvic.

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

if you know the engine code there is probably find a transfrom an acura that will work. you just need mounts and axels, no big deal

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

the nsx motor is just an overhyped CL motor.

Dibble 10-09-2004 12:10 PM

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

Its easier to pull weight then push it.

If you are going to start somthing crazy, do it right, you gotta have AWD, or we gotta take your balls.

I'd like to do the same, screw the D though, LS/Vtec would be my choice.

con 10-09-2004 02:38 PM

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

That would be cool but then you need crv ---- and it doesn't go in as nice. I imagine it would be much tougher though.I looked everyware for that crx artical for u and I came up empty :-\ I'll keep looking though. ;D

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

who has that red NSX in here?

youngbuckfab 10-09-2004 03:06 PM

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

yea it would be pretty cool besides the price.

nsx motor, crv drivetrain in a 2000 civic but its a lot of money for that

con 10-09-2004 03:22 PM

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

nsx will not bolt to a crv trans ;)

youngbuckfab 10-09-2004 03:26 PM

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

i know thats y it would be fabbed to work

youngbuckfab 10-09-2004 06:58 PM

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

but it was just an idea, i really want to buy either a hatch or a two door civic for a project

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

The motor in a legend is alot like a NSX motor. I know the heads will bolt up.

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

i've seen an S2000 drivetrain put into a civic hb. it was converted to rwd obviously. i always thought it would be cool to do the same to a crx. it would be a great deal of work, but it would be one unique and cool car. some day i'll try something like this when i have more money than brains.

wrong the heads will not bolt up, we failed miserably at this when we tried to mount them onto a 3.5Rl which is a C series the same as the C30 and C32 found in an nsx, the RL is still a legend just has a Differnt name in the US. there are 3 headbolts that do not line up on each side.

youngbuckfab 10-10-2004 08:25 PM

Re:Anybody know the nsx platform?

that would be pretty sweet in a crx
