Anybody ever made a turbo for a VW VR6?
 
I noticed you guys are all about the rice. Home made turbo is a good idea! Anyone out there ever put a turbo on a VW say a VR6 2.8? I know I can buy kits for $3500 but thats bank.

i though some of thoes were turboed from the factory?

whos about ricing out there car ??? not very many on here if im mistaken....mostly turbo and non-rice setups here.

i own a 01 vw 1.8t and 91 crx si...

umm.. go to vwvortex and buy a kit or something if your gonna come here to call us rice.

ha lol, sorry about the rice comment, i meant mostly Japaneese rides. Ya I know whats out there as far as vwvortex goes, no homemade turbo setups there. Just checkin if you know of anyone putting a turbo on a jetta.

They make cars stock 1999.5 and up but not for my '95 jetta GLX.

my friend is working on boosting his soon. afaik most people just throw in a thick head gasket and can handle 14psi with stock internals. arp head studs should probably be used also.
