to any one that has taken a tranny apart
 
ok i am replacing the mainshaft bearing and seal and i cant seem to get the clutch houseing apart from the tranny..
i have removed the 12mm bolts that big 19mm and the hex head bolt... is there some kind of trick? to get it apart. it will open up like 1 inch but something stops it...and i dont want to jerk on it and break something so please help asap..

did you take out the snap ring it the end of it?

yeah, that big "bolt" on the end, that you remove with a 3/8" driver, holds a snap-ring underneath it...

I tried for hours to get my tranny apart, and then my buddy came over and he knew the deal, and we had it in pieces in like 5 minutes =D

basically you want to life the PASSENGER side housing off the clutch housing

take all the bolts out, theres some on the side that have springs/ball bearing in them that should come out too. and then that friggen snap ring, dont forget that. i hate that thing
