Re: Any bad experience from plane incidents??

dude theres more car crashes than plane crashes so relax a little. and believe Philstubbs cuz american pilots recieve great training before they are even allowed to touch the plane.

one time me and my dad were flying to wichata(sp)Kansas and there was a bad thunder storm and wile we were landing a strong gust of wind was hitting the palne and actually making the front and back of the plane go to side to side right when the plane hit the runway the whole plane jerked to 1 side real bad...i was a lil scared but nothing to bad...

one time on a plane i was gettin head until we had some turbulence and I poked her eye out. Fortunately she was able to finish and later recovered.

I don't know. After we got off the plane I never saw her again. If you ever see a stewardess with an eyepatch, it could be her.

you are statistically more likely to die in a car wreck than a plane crash

I know so many people (family and friends) that fly for a living. I wouldn't be worried about it at all.

i was caught in a thunderstorm on the way to orlando. it wasnt even that bad. the food is sometimes nasty if your on a long enough flight where they serve a meal. when we flew to the carribean we got some bomb ass food. mmmmm... :6

Especially since 9-11. Air travel is a huge ------- PITA.

thats what makes it true. if people flew as much as they drive the statistic would be different

Re: Any bad experience from plane incidents??

Of course your safer in a plane...how many planes are in teh world compared to cars....Look at the numbers and if 100 planes crashed a day, it would be "safer" than a car. The ratio's will always say a plane is safer.

Incorrect. Rate of plane crashed vs rate of car crashes are seperated by an order of magnitude.

Welcome to professionally serviced equipment operated by professional pilots.

If you had any idea how much testing goes into aerospace parts, you wouldn't worry. But if you knew how they fixed planes you probably would.

Bingo. They don't let people fly hoopty ass planes with low oil and a shitty service record. Cars can drive around with JB welded blocks that have never received an oil change, but planes cannot. Also, any retard that can walk into a MVD can legally drive a car that same day. Not so with planes.

Yeah and it's not like they make pilots fly fatigued and there are numerous investigations on pilot drug use and driving under the influence :3

Re: Any bad experience from plane incidents??

Just as you're about to step off the jetway onto the plane, look at the skin of the plane around the door. You can tell how old the plane is that way, it came from the factory all nice smooth with very few seams in the skin. Older planes have all kinds of patches riveted to it, especially around the door. Just one of those tidbits of info you wished you'd never learned when you step on a plane and see more patches than you have time to count.

Enjoy your flight!

Re: Any bad experience from plane incidents??

its statistically safer to fly cross country than to walk across the road to get you're mail. Air travel is crazy safe, I work for an aircraft completion/service center and the accuracy and tolerances we have to make repairs are ridiculous. When jets crash you hear about it because it usually is a freak accident, in the U.S. anyway, some countries are alot less stringent on their policies. But if something was designed by humans, built by humans, or operated by humans there will be an accident. An Aloha airlines 737 had a 10 seat section of the roof rip off in flight sucking out a flight attendant. Alot of commercial jets are 25+ years old, thats like cruising around in a 1982 chevy citation, just that maintenance is so strict and these things are soooooooo expensive, they can last that long.
