You twisted the term, normatively justified it based off an action from the opposite political party, then clumped me in with the rest of the people posting in this thread in order to defame me, and I'm the idiot? I didn't make one normative statement, yet you're attempting to define my value system. That's not very intelligent of you. You should at least lay off the flagrant accusations until I've somewhat made an *** of myself. Which is likely to happen if you play your cards right.

I've never stated that the government bailing out corporations is not socialist. It's also, by definition, socialist. Just as Obama's political agenda is socialist. I've never stated that I agreed with McCain's voting record or political philosophy. I believe I specifically told you to refrain from arguing with those premises. I did so because the fact that one main stream political entity holds one value set that you do not agree with, it does not hold true that the person you're arguing with holds that value set. I do not agree with the neo-conservative doctrine. I do not believe in false economies, whether or not it comes for the poor at the expense of the rich or for the rich at the expense of the poor does not make a difference to me.

Obama is a socialist because he believes that it is the governments responsibility to provide an equal playing field in society. He is a socialist because he believes that the government has the right to redistribute wealth that the government has not earned to people whom they see fit based off of their need. He is a socialist because he believes that people who do well for themselves through their own work are obligated to help those who refuse to help themselves.

If you want to turn this into a normative argument about whether or not socialism is morally right or wrong, that's fine. But know that just because you hold something as a value, that it doesn't have the power to change the definition of political terms because you find it unappealing to your cause. If you're a socialist and hold socialist values, please say so. It's what you believe based on your ability to ration thus far, so you should hold it as a value until you can no longer morally or rationally believe in it. To alter your course in thought due to a political term being unpopular with the public is doing a great disservice to your ability to function as a rational human being.


I gave you the opportunity to respond in a civil manor after your half assed attempt at defaming me, now I'd like to see you step up to the plate an explain yourself in a respectful, coherent manor like someone with a bachelors degree should be able to do.

Shifted through that long *** post and basically you said that Obama is a socialist because he wants to redistribute wealth. Its funny you say that because under that premise the United States has been socialist since the ratification of the 16th amendment that allowed the collection of a PROGRESSIVE tax code. That means the more money you make, the more you pay. This 'redistribution of wealth' is not some liberal anti-American socialist policy thought up buy Marxists, but rather how the US Federal Government collects revenue.
As far as giving money to people that refuse to help themselves you need to stop watching FoxNews and actually listen to him speak. After becoming the PE, he has said the number one thing that he plans to cut funding from the federal budget is what? Entitlement programs! So there goes that argument.
And finally the assertion that Obama believes that the governments responsibility is to provide an equal field. That maybe what YOU think Obama thinks, but from what he has said he wants the government to provide opportunities to those that want to help themselves. He has promised to give student loans to those that are willing to commit to public service. Isn't that the complete OPPOSITE of socialism?
Don't be mad or bitter because an educated intellectual black man is now the leader of the free world as opposed to an idiotic honky tonk that can barely compose a cohesive sentence...
