Another audio question (sub)
Well I think I know the answer to this, just confirming. So if I have a 4 ohm DVC sub woofer, each coil is 4 ohms right? I'm almost positive this is correct. Each coil is 4 ohm so you can then run series at 8 ohms or parallel at 2 ohms. Just wanting to make sure before I go wiring anything up.

Re: Another audio question (sub)
Well it depends on how they are labeling it, most of the time they mean exactly what you said, but double check. It could be a dual 8 Ohm coil wired in parallel to be 4 Ohms, which they call a 4 Ohm DVC sub.

part number on the sub?

Re: Another audio question (sub)
pretty much yes. I think 4 ohm is actually 3.6 or something usually this could also be bullshit that I remember through the booze induced haze that was high school.

Re: Another audio question (sub)
You're confusing inductance with resistance.

Re: Another audio question (sub)
If it's a dual 4 ohm voice coil then yes, you'll get 8 ohms total from running them in series or 2 ohms from running in parallel.

Re: Another audio question (sub)
could be 0 ohm with series wiring.. coukd be wrong 2 ohm for sure some other way cant remember.. hic-up
