analog cable question
I have analog cable, and I was wondering if it is possible for the company to shut off service remotely, or if it is neccesary for a guy to come and physically dissconnect the cable for the pole to cut my service.

Re: analog cable question
they have to disconnect it inside the cable box on your house/apartment.

Re: analog cable question
it kind of depends where you are and what your service does. where im at, when you get the service you go pick up a cable box. if you dont pay your bill or want to quit the sevice, they send a signal to the box that dosent let you see any channels (its an addressable box). but the actual connection is still there. this is why i got a unaddressable universal descrambler off ebay. i now get every channel and dont pay a cent

Re: analog cable question
It really depends on your company like mentioned above. I had a friend whos summer job a few years back was going to peoples houses and disconnecting their illegal cable. I have another accuaintence whos job is installing cable/internet and he said if you get "caught" just deny it and play dumb. They really can't prove you took steps to get the service (except a descrambler box, ect).
Someone needs to make a thread on how to get free cable though... |
