Aluminum welding

Hey guys I am looking into picking up a mig welder, mostly to help me on my turbo kit, but some other odds and ends also. The one I'm looking at will weld with or without gas. I preffer to use the gas because the welds will come out alot cleaner.
My question is, Can I use some aluminum mig wire to weld aluminum with this welder or does the welder have to be designed to weld aluminum? As far as I know the welder is setup to weld steel. Beau, I know you do alot of welding so maybe you can help me out here, and anyone else who knows can feel free to help too. :)

if you change your gas from 25%/75% for steel to 100%argon, you can weld aluminum with mig. just change your wire and gas also it feeds better if your gun is lower than the machine. best bet would be to get a spool gun.
