almost finished with the daily driver
First this is only the daily driver. Im not looking to have the fastest car in the world. Honestly I deliver pizza with this thing 5 days a week. So Ive had to find the median between fast/comfortable/reliable. The race car will come soon.
Right when I first got it, stock 90 SI http://is.rely.net/1-1116-10804-t-Vm...UI1BafUURg.jpghttp://is.rely.net/1-1116-10805-t-sr...xUhAyOVfzw.jpg My goals: To stay as "sleeper" as possible. Fast, but still a nice car, after so many Honda's im sick of driving a gutted car. Keep A/C, I'd love to loose the weight and gain the room, but damn its hot here, just not worth it. Not half ass anything anymore, its bit me in the ass too many times! Setup: B20z block B16 pr3 head, stock cams, type-r valvetrain AEBS Headstuds JG adjustable cam gears Skunk2 Intake manifold Nayhow MFG. Intake manifold gasket (same material as hondata, but only $35) UR underdrive pully - looking for proof of them "ruining engines" B&M FPR and Gauge Battery relocation GC coilovers Tokiko Illumina 5-way adjustable struts Clutch Specialties 6 puck clutch kit Ebay 99-00 SI intake b16 tranny cams/exhaust undecided converted to OBD-1 using uberdata on a p28 retaining A/C with the hasport a/c bracket new axles Things im waiting to recieve: 2" aluminum half radiator Dual 10" slim fans Neuspeed Springs J's Intake Not ordered yet: Header Cams After ~1500 daily driven miles I've had absolutely no problems at all. It runs perfect like a new car. Only issue is traction, which I have none of. So far I havent really had many races, just random cars. This all with stock cams/beat down b16 header, un-tuned. new is300 - smoked 00+? camaro SS, 50mph+ roll on, slowly pulled away from me. couple civics, no idea what done - destroyed rx8 - beat pretty bad mercedes clk320? - beat bad B20z Block when pulled apart (6k kms original miles aka ~2,500 miles) http://is.rely.net/1-1116-12025-t-4y...EvlwWIFwhQ.jpghttp://is.rely.net/1-1116-12026-t-Nh...7M6yjexnyA.jpg Motor assembled with pretty JG cam gears http://is.rely.net/1-1116-10806-t-t7...TAdpeR5m5A.jpghttp://is.rely.net/1-1116-10808-t-tq...MYzvtJT4mQ.jpghttp://is.rely.net/1-1116-12509-t-Bw...SBpLtpAQJA.jpg Skunk2 manifold and Nayhow gasket Manifold awaiting port matching then paint - gasket is basically a hondata gasket for $35 http://is.rely.net/1-1116-11896-t-Ze...1OQ1aRJqRQ.jpghttp://is.rely.net/1-1116-11897-t-2t...NM3LUD046g.jpghttp://is.rely.net/1-1116-11898-t-U0...JbSYCOfsow.jpg Motor and tranny getting "Universal Grey" high temp paint. Im really sick of Red engines and valve covers, I thought I would go to the opposite extreme and make it bland as can be. Im trying not to make it an eye catcher. DOHC V-TEC and Honda emblem are all removed from the valvecover. http://is.rely.net/1-1116-13724-t-HP...soZw4szzkg.jpghttp://is.rely.net/1-1116-13725-t-nf...7SkUom8iTw.jpghttp://is.rely.net/1-1116-13726-t-5c...XKatqAs34A.jpg Painting finished http://is.rely.net/1-1116-13807-t-Bu...Gr0BPvEO2w.jpghttp://is.rely.net/1-1116-13805-t-FH...rJRqq7V7AA.jpghttp://is.rely.net/1-1116-13806-t-fj...oBfHLZI4kQ.jpg Finally installed with the horrible valve cover (has cam gear area cut out for my tuning) soon to be replaced. http://is.rely.net/1-1116-22757-t-S1...zSGOIatC0A.jpghttp://is.rely.net/1-1116-23129-t-EU...AR5u1zw4gg.jpghttp://is.rely.net/1-1116-22756-t-zw...0VuZQwTtCA.jpg http://is.rely.net/1-1116-23128-t-P1...csLdaRNa7w.jpg Then to the 2.5" exhaust I decided to make. It has a 22" resonator and a Summit "turbo muffler". The car sounds completely stock other than it has a deeper sound, all you hear is the motor, VERY sleeper just like I want. http://is.rely.net/1-1116-24917-t-6u...8zuRNDONsA.jpghttp://is.rely.net/1-1116-24916-t-eJ...f4WBmFdviw.jpghttp://is.rely.net/1-1116-24915-t-S8...BPjv0hoO0A.jpghttp://is.rely.net/1-1116-24918-t-9n...rm6H2vMnKA.jpg NX wet kit install. I will be putting in the A/C this week and I figure with keeping my car full boddied I would like to have an extra boost on hand to make it less of a problem. http://is.rely.net/1-1116-24919-t-zX...g2NV5lL7Tw.jpghttp://is.rely.net/1-1116-24920-t-81...5SvoxhI5HQ.jpg Air Conditioning Installed - By far my favorite thing, I hate the weight and power loss but its 90+ almost every day. If you dont have a/c you hate driving your car. The pump is really dirty from the old motor in this pic. http://is.rely.net/1-1116-21888-t-u7...tEK2781B8w.jpg B&M Fuel Pressure Regulator Install - Nice gauge, very easy to adjust fuel pressure. http://is.rely.net/1-1116-21881-t-n1...JyynMsfLpg.jpg 99-00 Civic SI "Ram Air" Intake installed - Very ugly but my stock D16a6 Intake arm was not even the size of my throttle body, I had to cut it to fit, so I figured the motor could breathe a bit better if it had a pipe the same size as the TB. http://is.rely.net/1-1116-21890-t-FR...MMadBTh6iA.jpghttp://is.rely.net/1-1116-21886-t-7m...imkMGBkRtw.jpg Also In the same pic's you can see I had to re-locate the battery to the rear to make room for the intake. All done with 4awg welders wire and some new terminals from Kragen. My old battery wires/grounds were in nasty shape, it was taking much longer for the motor to fire, my guess was the starter was grounding so much power the spark was not good enough. This was solved with the new wires/terminals. http://is.rely.net/1-1116-21887-t-Mn...0kBqCxjgUg.jpg I remade the Motor grounds, just like every EF the stock ones have been through 15+ years of crap and are looking horrible. Just used a bit of amp wire I've had laying around. http://is.rely.net/1-1116-21891-t-fy...SYqgPBroEg.jpg Tokiko Illumina 5-way adjustable shocks installed http://is.rely.net/1-1116-21893-t-7B...hX06vUQN0w.jpghttp://is.rely.net/1-1116-21882-t-jW...AP4h9y5hDA.jpg Finally came across a stock SI lip, once its on you know it should be there, It makes the car look much better. I didnt want to have to get a JDM Carbon fiber space lip. http://is.rely.net/1-1116-21884-t-nx...c5TlK3pUCQ.jpghttp://is.rely.net/1-1116-21885-t-eQ...CjsVQEha5g.jpg |

Re: almost finished with the daily driver
no turbo = no good.
But you do have nitrous, so the car isn't completely gay. |
Re: almost finished with the daily driver
good lookin car man. i might redo that suspension if you wanna go for the sleeper look. maybe some springs/good shocks rather than a coilover set-up. just my $.02. get something stiff as hell, and you will still have awesome handleing. looks good none the less though.

Re: almost finished with the daily driver
I go with a NA setup with a B20 too. That engine wouldn't last before those wall cracked or you'd have to run some low shitty psi where it defeat the whole purpose of boosting. Nice setup though.
