Yeah what happened to that guy, he used to post on here all the time. I remember he'd exercise his braggin' rights all the time with that setup. Didn't it blow a while ago? Nonetheless mad props.

Re:For all of you D16 fans out there. Very impressive #'s....

ok since random-strike wants to be a smart ass im gona reply... the 302hp was made @ 16.5 psi along with the 11sec pass. the reason the car blew up was because it overheated a week before wich warped hte head and i did not really think about it so i went and ran the car the week after, ran it at 6psi 16psi then over 20psi, when i went over 20psi i guess it was enough to push the head a little and sneak some water into cyl3 causing it to hydrolock. so before you try and be a smart ass bitch dont come here saying im just a 1 time thing man get your hsit straight know what you are saying, i dont see you doing ----, reason i stoped posting is because of dumb ass fucks that just say "well it only did it once" "i bet it hardly even lasted", so what it blew, but it ran for over 3 months of hard ass driving, if it wasnt for it overheating it would probably still be runing, i have another spare motor that i have to put together but i really dont feel like doing it anymore.

for all you other guys (jeff and rest of hmt) that give me props THANKS ALOT.

Re:For all of you D16 fans out there. Very impressive #'s....

hey bud, you were going around saying that engine was OEM, but had aftermarket rods in it. i've heard multiple people say this.

everyone knows you can run 20psi with a stock engine if its tuned perfectly.

endyne supercharger.
Q: How much boost does it make? Can my stock bottom end take it?
The boost is variable and it goes up to 24 psi with about 17 psi at around 3,000 rpm. Many prototypes have been up and running for more than two years with stock engines. It is not boost that kills the engine, it is bad tuning and detonation at the wrong place/time.

don't get your thong is a bunch. i don't think 302hp is the record either. bob kennedy in his 87 si (d15a3) was higher but i'm not really sure i haven't talked to him in a while. maybe jeff knows. i thought i was something like 320hp. his motor didn't explode either.

get the cock out your mouth man, the engine was STOCK, all that was done is a gasket and arp studs.. do you not see the pictures of hte rods?????? get a ------- clue and get your ------- ---- STRAIGHT, dont talk ---- without having something to back it up with.... read what i wrote, it blew up because the head was warped you dumbass. how about getting some dyno graphs of bob's motor making 320, if he did make 320 good for him i really dont care he did a good job, so because i made 302 you say its not impressive, you are a ------- IDIOT.....how bout if you go put a motor together and then ------ run your mouth, i hate all the little fucks htat can always talk ---- by saying "well my bud has a bla bla bla that is more inpressive than yours" bring what you ------- have and not what others have bitch.

yes btw, look at how big and strong this "aftermarket" looks.....

Well this thread took an ugly turn for the worse. :'( Sorry for bringing it up. I just thought it was impressive to see a stock D series holding up to that much abuse.

Well its normal to get alot of non-belivers on a subject like this, even myself was very amazed, all his dynos kept getting more and more hp, on stock internals, and I was just very shocked. You guys need to remember that Jan works at a shop with a dyno, and gets lots of experience tuning cars and what not.

And the long awaited pics of the blown bottom end, does show that he wasnt full of ----, and that he really just was running stock internals.

Great time, great hp.... and gotta love the fact its a single cam ;)

I think we are all jealous, ----, I didnt even hit that on my ls/vtec boosted at 12psi.

Jan style is a way of life I think... more is better right?

that is something i never figured out... it threw cel like once or twice but after that it never did it again.

Re:For all of you D16 fans out there. Very impressive #'s....

what a dildo, he is going to kung fu me to death or something. i was just saying what i heard. there are probably a lot of jealous people out there who just started that rumor or somethin.

i seriously don't care how much horsepower you made on a sohc honda engine with stock internals. i bet a car with more hp and tourqe throughout the power band would outrun yours everywhere except maybe the dragstrip. you start making good power at about 5500rpm. do you think it might be faster if you made 20 less hp but had more throughout the powerband? when you speed shift where do you rpms drop to, i guess it was around 5000 you'd be perfect.

because you come on here and verbally assault me you should just take your prozac or smoke a bowl or something DAWG.

Re:For all of you D16 fans out there. Very impressive #'s....

take it easy people, maybe illpost in the future....
and if you think about it 150hp at 4400rpm is alot for a crx wich weighs nothing. when you learn how to put a car meant for drag racing together you realize that the poewr below 5000rpm is not really used. i think the only time my car saw bellow 5000rpm is while revving up to hit 2step or letting off the gas at the end of the track..

J-SMITH69 06-03-2003 01:29 AM

Re:For all of you D16 fans out there. Very impressive #'s....

sweet i didn't know it was a drag race only car.
150 is gettin goin in a little crx.

i know how to big a dragster.

damn man .. mad props that is bitchin, you should throw the other engine in there and get crazy on it. that setup is like mine's gonna be but on a zc. nice!! top end is where its at, if you want low end get a supercharger weakass

BoostedED9 06-04-2003 08:01 PM

Re:For all of you D16 fans out there. Very impressive #'s....

if i really wanted hte new setup can go 320hp+ and who knows what i will pull on the 1/4 low low 11's thinking more like 10's

J-SMITH69 06-05-2003 02:36 AM

Re:For all of you D16 fans out there. Very impressive #'s....

why don't you stop beating around the bush and build an engine for racing.

yeah is fun to see what stuff can do, like he said "when you learn how to build a dragster... " blah blah blah. running a stock engine is not the way to build a dragster :)

it might not be the way to build one but it is a very very impressive way to show companies what i can do with stock stuff and leave it up to their imagination what i could do with their products if i was to go built.
