Alarm Install
 

I got jacked this last Monday, the evening I installed some Sportlines i found at pick a part. They took my Cd player, 6x9's in the rear and all my cd's but left my tools and nice shiny watch in the dash, but somehow managed to break my glove box -_-. Anyway long story short I've already ordered a Compustar 2WSS-AS at $240 from ebay and I'm getting 10% tint all the way around this friday/saturday.

Was just wondering how difficult it would be to install the alarm and 2 actuators? I have plenty tools but marginal knowledge in hacking up wiring. I already have a decent quote from a local shop for 150 including the actuators and remote start, but thought I might as well see if I can keep the little money I make :X.

what kind of car do you have, is you car auto or standard. i can get you a nice wire chart and maybe even some pictures of wire locations. i install that brand of alarm for a living.

88 Honda CRX, i ordered the "manual" version.

they all come as manual it is just programming. this will be pretty easy same make and model have.
do you have a soldering iron and know how to solder?
a circiut tester (or atleast a test light)
you will also need two 5 pin relays and harnesses for the actuators
my car is in storage so i might not be able to get any pictures of the wire locations, only newer cars are in my database

yeah its not hard at all just knowing where the wires are...i got an alarm with starter/turbo timer etc...but im not going to hook that crap up...just the alarm.

how knowledgeable are you with wiring? it really is not that hard, it just gets overwhelming when you look at all the wires and pull out the 300 page manual :S

but just take your time and focus on one section of the alarm at a time. like first setup power and ground, then your locks, shock sensor, and the siren, so now you at least have a way to lock your doors if someone bumps the car too hard it'll beep at em. then you can go into working on the compustar sensors and senders and all that good ----. definately install the hood pin

took me like 3 days of auto-shop class to finish, so basically 3-4 hours for everything 100% done.

I did my install myself, it took me two nights after work. I took my time soldering and heat shrinking. I think I used a Helm manual to decipher the color codes for the wire harness. Pinpointing which wire I needed to tap into was the most challenging part, everything else is bolt on.
