I mean Al Gore sucks and is a huge hypocrite, but the idea of living a cleaner/greener lifestyle isn't a terrible idea when implemented in a practical moderate manner. If solar power wasn't $20,000 after rebate for a 2000-3000 sq ft home, I'd surely invest. It's just too much of an initial payment to make it practical for most Americans who live close to paycheck to paycheck.
I'm not an Al Gore fan. I think he sucks as much as Bono and Oprah. The people leading a global revolution of sorts should be people that have the credentials to do so and actually follow through with what they say. ---- the new breed of celebrity endorsers who profit off of being charitable.

I'm talking about sniffer test levels. Complain all day about being green and your cars, but without the big green push, do you think E85 would be at the pump in most states? E85 is a car guys dream. 105 octane fuel that cools combustion temps and is only $2.50 a gallon. Jesus Christ.

Also, Al Gore isn't a crazy, if you don't drive a hybrid you can go to hell kind of guy. He didn't have a hybrid for a long time. He still flies around the world in a private jet. Overall he is a lot more talk than walk.
e85 only gives out half the energy that straight gasoline does. you end up using twice as much.

You sure? It SOUNDS like your proving yourself wrong. Do you want to go ahead and read what YOU JUST typed. Of course not. Here we go again.....

...OK jackass!!! Lets start off by saying that YOU are wrong. If you don't understand anything understand that. Do you know what a theory is a theory is explained for the dumbasses here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theory. The previous link and a little common sense would lead to the conclusion that YOU would have to prove ME that global warming exists, do yo understand yet?

Wikipedia actually has a very good page on global warming. One paragraph reads
"""""There are questions regarding the proportion of scientists who agree or disagree on the existence of human-caused warming. Environmental groups, many governmental reports, and the non-U.S. media often claim virtually unanimous agreement in the scientific community in support of human-caused warming. Opponents either maintain that most scientists consider global warming "unproved," dismiss it altogether, or decry the dangers of consensus science.[13] Others maintain that either proponents or opponents have been stifled or driven underground""""

I don't have to scrounge up any articles, journals, editorials, excerpts, passages, or whatever the ---- your asking for. again YOU liberal ***** have to prove that to everyone else, and sadly the one doing that, your rep, is AL--------Gore. OH NOES WHY ISN"T ANYWUN HELPEENG!!!!@!!@!%!%*

Theory =/= fact retard. How can you prove something scientifically if you don't have the proper range of data?

You need to pay attention to what I wrote then realize you're a complete idiot.

well, isn't wikipedia open to public editing? so someone from the oil industry could log in and post whatever they wanted, right?

Matalac, you don't have to get all nasty, I do understand where you are coming from. If you just open your eyes and look around you, its easy to see that global warming is taking place. when you are driving on a road that is surrounded by trees, and reach a developed area, you can feel the temperature get hotter as you go from trees to parking lots. that is global warming. I don't know where you live, but just outside of washington dc where I live, developers are tearing every patch of woods down they can. now do that on a global scale, which is being done, and you have a warming planet caused by PEOPLE. If you say I am wrong, you are a total retard.

that doesn't even include the gas emissions that the right wing media is disputing. I'm sure there are plenty of republicans that would agree that global woarming exists, but they can't if they want to be a team player, and stay in the pockets of big business.

now there could be an event that stops global warming, or slows it way down. like a wide------ plague/ pandemic/ disease, or a nuclear war, or some sort of major natural disaster.

I'm not a democrat or a republican but I do respect those who side with them. just don't take rush limbaugh's word, as convincing as he sounds sometimes, as the truth. even that drug addict can make mistakes.

you're a clown.

if you hate buisness, quit your job, and move out of the US because we have a capatalist system.

if you hate oil, either drill and refine into gasoline your own ---- or quit driving your car.

washington dc is a shithole. your perspective is fucked up.

a very very very very very very VERRRRYYyy small portion of the earth is actually inhabitied. VERY SMALL PERCENTAGE.

global warming being man made is a MYTH designed to tax you and gain more control through government. were we the cause of global warming thousands of years ago? millions? did bush and cheney go back in time and drill for oil? hmmmm?

^^ Hahaha, so true.

Man made global warming has not been proven, so is therefor bullshit. I'm sure we'll find out in a few hundred years who was right :P

Random Strike. You really need to learn some critical thinking skills. The idea is that temperatures are increasing on earth. That is not really argued by anyone. Some state its a natural occurrence. It is just the fact we had a really low temperature when we started measuring and it's only natural for it to go back up again. Others say that may be the case but it could also be combined with the fact we are introducing CO2 into the atmosphere which is increasing the green house effect. Others think CO2 is the main contributing factor. Most likely, CO2 has some impact on things as it's becoming part of our atmosphere. Mass can neither be destroyed or created, so it's sitting up there in the atmosphere having some impact. Small or large, it's having an impact. Also to comment on your E85 comment. E85 emissions are lower than regular old gasolines when tuned correctly. The fuel economy portion plays a role as the portion of gases has to be such that over a particular distance the difference is significant enough to balance out. I'm not sure if this is the case or not. I don't think E85 is especially great as of right now except for the fact that its dirt cheap race fuel which was my point from the beginning. Because of "hippie liberals" wanting ethanol fuel, we now have dirt cheap race fuel. Works for me.

As for the idiot talking about DC. Dumb dumb. It's in the atmosphere that the problem is occurring. Not over a couple square miles. The reason why cities are hotter than suburban or urban areas is the amount of asphalt/concrete, building height, and various other reasons attributed to population density. Hell, a significant portion of NJ's air pollution comes from coal powered plants and coal mining to the west. The wind happens to blow it in our direction. Stop thinking local and start thinking global.

go ahead and use e85 for race fuel. you get HALF THE ENERGY FROM IT AS YOU DO STRAIGHT GASOLINE...

you know there are also "scientists" who believe the CO2 is actually making the earth LESS warm, because it blocks out part of the suns rays. who is right? al ------- gore who knows absolutely nothing about weather. he is a politician his entire life, he has done absouletly nothing.

F the globe. the only thing that matters is the united states, ---- the rest of the earth. china produces more pollution than the US. go bitch at them

random-strike, why do you have to take it to that degree? where is it that you live that is so nice? it's people like you that need to be kept in check. you have no idea what you are talking about and just defend what your daddy told you.

look how the very very very very very very VERRRRY small number of inhabitants leave the lights on at night.

and how is the global warming myth going to raise taxes?

and my square mile idea is just that, it is a small localized example of what is happening world wide. I'm not saying that pavement is causing global warming. but it is contributing to higher temperatures. yes, I realize that the warming is being blamed mostly on gas emissions, I just wanted to prove an earlier point that people are in fact responsible for a warmer planet, and you could prove that locally.
