air fuel guage reads rich at idle
I have a zc with boost. Under cruise conditions my a/f guage functions properly but when I am sitting at an idle it will sit in the rich area of the guage. I was told that it should flucuate back and forth between rich and lean. Would anyone know why it would read lean, I have the origional injectors and a stock fuel pressure regulator, I have the pm6 ecu from a d16. When i take off from sitting at an idel I get a huge puff of black smoke. I thought I had an injector stuck open but when I turn my car off the fuel pressure maintains. if anyone else has had this problem or has an idea of where I could start, that would be really helpfull. thanks

Re:air fuel guage reads rich at idle
you listed stock injectors, fpr and pump. but what are u using for fuel when in boost???
is the idle low and bumpy? |
Re:air fuel guage reads rich at idle
lol are u using an fmu... and forgot to listen or just a crazy ass rusher who wanted to boost? you shouldnt worry about ur reading at idle as much as u should at wide open throttle.. thats when its most accurate and ur supposed to take ur reasing. also the black smoke can be a few things... but most likely its a fuel problem... do u have any check engine lights on.. limp mode will cause you to run rich

Re:air fuel guage reads rich at idle
------- idiot, dont tell him wrong info!! the car DOES NOT read off the O2 (A/F gauge) sensor at WOT!! it reads directly off the map. an A/F gauge is totally useless at WOT. you get yer best reading at about 3/4 throttle. the only thing accurate at WOT is a, EGT gauge. thik before you speak.
