The speaker wires shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

From new radio, take the yellow and red and connect both of them to your cars constant 12+ power. Black to ground, and the speakers to speakers. Pm me if you need any other help.

Re:after market radio wire to stock wire

the stock honda wires arent to hard to figure out, anything that there is 2 of like the brown wire is a speaker wire, usually anything with a black stripe is (-). also i believe it is a red wire that is the constant 12v and another red with green stripe is the acessory power wire. As far as ground i believe it is black on ur radio as well as the stock honda wiring.. but u can grand the radio wherever, doesnt have to be to a specific wire.. just a good metal surface.
let me know if this helps

Re:after market radio wire to stock wire

just keep messing with it but always keep it grounded most important... and dis battery b4 u make all connections then connect once each is secure and try again... if theres 2 of any one color those are speakers and and just switch or use a power tester to see which is + and -

Re:after market radio wire to stock wire

Ok, this is the best way to find out, this is what all the guys do at car toys and stuff. Take a nine volt battery and just randomly hook up wires to the terminals, as soon as you hear a scratching sound in a speaker you know you found the two wires for whatever speaker is making a scratching noise.

Try to get wires that look the same and then put them on the battery to try to get a scratching sound.

also if you cannot figure out which one is positive and which one is negative here is a way to figure that out:
when you find which wires go where take two wires from one of the speakers. Uncover the speaker so you can see it. Hook the wires to the terminals and hold it for only a bit on them.
If the speaker gets sucked in then wires are wrong way, but when you hook the wires to the terminals and the speaker bumps outwards, then the wire that is on the poitive terminal of the battery; that is the poitive wire to the speaker.

If you are scared to blow your speakers just use a small AAA battery or somethin.

If you have any other questions PM me

really? ::)

kero's info is correct but I dont see two brown wires paired together w/ one of them having a black stripe?

the stereo sidee of the wiring should have labels or a diagram on the bottom of the deck. (or the manual :) )

Re:after market radio wire to stock wire

lol your a funny guy, the clock is reseting because u connected the memory wire wrong... the blue wire from the sony is the memory wire and needs to be connected to the white/ blue Honda wire.. this should take care of your clock problem

Re:after market radio wire to stock wire

that idle problem is quite common with hondas.. it could be quite a few things, i need for you to tell me if you have a check engine light coming on... otherwise it could be a messed up vacuum sorce or you tps need to be recalibrated.
Just try disconnecting the battery and reconnect it see what happens, also try driving it a little bit and it does go away sometimes

Re:after market radio wire to stock wire

read what kero said at the top of the topic.. he was right w/ the wiring from the start.

the solid blue wire from the sony deck is the remote on lead, to turn amps and power antennas on.

Xplocivic 08-27-2003 08:54 AM

Re:after market radio wire to stock wire

The blue wire is NOT the memory wire. Don't post if you don't know what you are talking about. The yellow wire coming out of the aftermarket deck is the memory wire which needs to be connected to a constant 12V source in order to retain the clock and presets. Red goes to a switched 12V, which actually turns the deck on after the key is turned.

For reference, I am an MECP certified Mobile Audio Installer, so I probably know what I'm talking about.

For any more audio questions, PM me or check out www.the12volt.com

Re:after market radio wire to stock wire

thats cool with the speaker/battery idea, i could never figure that out besides marking the wires or using different colors.

now the problem i had one time was with a set of tweeters that werent marked + or -, they were from a $600 mb quart component set, i really didnt wanna hook those up wrong.
