aem wideband o2 gauge burned up

I fried my o2 wideband gauge the other day. I called AEM and they offered me no support, unless I want to send it in to them.

That I don't want to do, because I did open up the gauge and found out what I burned up. Its a surface mount voltage regulator, 0-5v.

The problem the I have, is that I can take the part number off the regulator cuz when it burned up it took the numbers off too.

Is there any way that I can find this thing so I can replace it with the right part.

BTW: I did find a generic regulator at a local shop, and put it in, it works but im not 100% sure if the calibration of the gauge was affected since im not running the same voltage regulator.

Thanks ahead of time for all your help. That is if anyone can help me. ;)

I know someone who just recently got one, I'll try to get a hold of him.

well I just reregister with a different email address. but I got banned again before I could reply again. O well. Here is what I had to say.

Just because I did burnt up my gauge while I was "monkeying" arownd, and I do have the abillity to fix it and get it working again, with the right parts. That does not mean that you could not support in finding the right part number or sell me the part.

I did not ask for anything free, I was willing to pay for the part or a schematic to find the right number.

I just don't see myself paying for something that I can fix myself. No reason to do that, when I allready paid $400 for the gauge.

O well enough said. You can ban me again, or do whatever you want.

Thanks for all the help, NOT. ;)"

can someone register and post my reply to them. ;)

If your sure the original voltage regulator was 5 volt, then a 7805 found at Radio Shack should work, but there in a TO-220 case instead of surface mount...just a higher current rating.

not 100% sure that it was a 5v regulator, but it would defenetlly make sence to be one. Since the wideband o2 gauge reads from 0-5v.

i did fount a surface mount at Supertronics and put it in. it seems to work just fine, im just bit worried about the calibration of the gauge.

i guess i can get a voltage meter and test the out voltage from the o2 sensor and read the gauge at the same time and see if its the same. hmm, i wonder how good that would work. ???

shiet, if we didn't monkey arownd with shiet, we would NOT have HMT.
