Honda had a 50mpg gas car 30 years ago... wtf happened? Lose weight, automakers. Safety standards you say? Adding to a Civic doesn't mean ---- when an H2 parks itself in the back seat.

The new AVTEC system will allow for a 13% improvement in fuel economy over the current i-VTEC range of engines. The 13% figure was obtained comparing the current K24A 2.4 liter i-VTEC engine with a new 2.4 liter AVTEC equivalent.

new and improved hotrex now with 104% throttle came to mind when i read the 13% more fuel economy.
get off the ------- 2.4 and go back to a 2.0 or a 1.6 theres your economy |

Robb - it said 3 years from then is when they'll try to have it in cars, which would mean sometime in 2009 (this year)
Despite the expected jokes about a vtec, continuously variable valve timing sounds sweet. Any idea how this advanced technology works, JD? Electronically actuated? Could be the end of cams... |
