i have about 3000 miles on my Clutch Specialties clutch, 6 puck unsprung... and ive already had to adjust it like 5-6 times because the engagement seems to keep moving up... is that normal? it still grips hella hard... i just hope that its not already wearing down. any ideas experiences?

what about all them people out there who have been running unsprung puck type clutches for years and still running strong??

i have yet to hear of about any running a race clutch for more than 6 months

I never had a problem with mine nor has bongnak. Nor anyone else i know thats used it. We were all using the unsprung version as well. Engagement position has nothing to do with sprung or unsprung. i dont need to go over what the differences are as im sure you already know. Anyways are you sure your cable is in good shape and your making it very tight after uve adjusted it? It does have a tendency to move a bit if you dont have it very tight.
I went two years with my unsprung clutch, same as yours, never had a problem, clutch is still being ridden hard

yeah my car is hydro... so i'm just crossing my fingers. Most posts ive read say that their ceramic clutches have lasted at least 1-2 years with no probs and still grabbing strong... but then there are the one or two guys who say theirs only lasted 5000 miles or 6 months... i guess only time will tell.

all the ones that get installed are from PFI. i wonder if they are putting them in wrong.. hummmmm That would explain why they go to ---- so quick..

I had a clutch specialties unsprung six puck ceramic, and it lasted me about a year and a half of boosted years. I've had friends that have used their unsprung clutch for 3 years and some that have changed them in 3 months. Clutch life depends on so many variables such as owner, clutch disc size, horsepower, pad material, etc. The biggest factor that I have personally experienced is whether you get the flywheel machined and if you break it in properly. Unsmooth flywheel and improper break in = premature clutch wear.

hmmm.... yeah, i installed mine myself like i always do... i even went the extra mile and resurfaced my flywheel this time, which i never did in the past...
i'll be really bummed out if this clutch goes soon b/c i really like it.

mine is still holding fine...I abuse it ones in a while.....I did swap tranny's after 3 weeks driving with the clutch the pads were hardly showing any wear...it was unboosted though. Now it's boosted for more then a month and It's gripping hard. but if the clutchplate wears out you can replace it though and still use the pressure plate if it's still working properly.
