Default Accord auto trans problem!

I have this verry clean 91 Accord that was driving perfectly. I get in it the other morning and it has no power. I pull the shifter down in first and it goes but still slow. After driving a minute I figure out the trans is stuck in third gear. I can pull it down into second but not first and there is no overdrive. This happened overnight so i think its an electrical problem. Also the green S (sport) light on the dash is on. It wont go out no matter what position the shifter switch is in. The car has a wierd electrical gremlin anyway. The power locks and antenna dont work and the little indicator on the dash that tells you your door is open or your brake lights are out would stay on all the time and flicker, now thats out. I tried two different trans controll modules with no luck and all the fuses are good. If any one has run up on this problem before let me know. I know there aren't alot of auto trans Accord guys on here but it cant hurt to ask.

I have fixed a coupe at work like that, disconect the battery wait 10 sec and hook it back up. Problem never arose again. Never had one more seroius then that. You owe me an intercooler if it works

Try the disconnecting the battery thing but i would test your alternator. When they go they can make all kinds of stuff go nutty.

I have a 91 Accord also. Just started doig thiss also. It has HIGH milage, but motor runs and purrs like brand new. The only other problem is it throws a Code 43 (Fuel delivery) after running down the highway for 30-45min or so. I'm beginning it's the torque convertor or something like this but kust like you it popped up kinda over night.

Yeh definately sounds electronically related , cheking the ecu and fuses might help.

I tried two different controll units. Same thing. I am thinking its the valves on the trans. I will try to find a replacement set and try those next.

i had the same problem 1st and 2nd on the shifter would some times be 1st and 3rd and 4th would be 3rd. then 1 and 2 would be 2nd and 3,4 would be 4th and the sport light would be on.some times 3 and 4 would be first and 1and 2 would be second.a real pain in the *** it is a fail safe system honda has with this these black nubs on the right side on the tranny . i had them replaced on my accord and it fixed the problem. i think on your accord they should be grey (weathered)on on the front side of the transmission lmk if it works
