yep, my area got hit, good thing I was born in the 80s, not the 50s or 60s, I could have gotten radiation and ended up being old.

Re:above ground nuclear testing from 1951-1962
I don't think that nuclear cloud could contains enough REMS to actually cause damage. People used to actually watch the bombs explode from Las Vegas, it was a tourist attraction.
Lets also not forget that radiation is all around us, it occurs naturally. ----, there's even radioactive elements in smoke detectors used to purify the air.

Re:above ground nuclear testing from 1951-1962
i would hypothisize that the clouds never drifted over california from navada because of the natural occurence of the jet stream. which travels from west to east. one reason weather patterns travel west to east. my 2 cents

I agree completely, the only thing to laugh at is the prople we drop the bombs on. But we didn't know any better back than. The government actually designed a nuclear rocket launcher and a nuclear gound cannon. Being the soldier that fired those weapons would be pretty shitty. The also made the soldier watch the explosions of the bombs, just imagine how any REMS they got there. |
