And if its a small dent dont use bondo they use some type of finishing glaze.

steps:

1: block/scuff
2:fill
3: finish blocking filler down
4:primer filler
5:block down again

Yeah its a lot of work/time :-\

cool thanks alot man, i think i pretty much got it but 1 last thing, if i use bondo(or where can i find the filler glaze) and then sand, do i add primer on top of bondo/glaze??

U can find the finishing glaze at Napa or Autozone its like $16 for a quart. After u block down the filler primer that area and sand the primer down with some 220. The primer fills in your scraches from blocking down the filler.

220 :o? that is way to corase... i'd use 220 to roughen up the serface before i'd primer... but not before i'd paint

Also have to remember when doing bodywork is if you can feel it you'll be able to see it when the paint is laid down. I used this forum for info when I painted my car.

Bluehatch is right, I wouldn't go with anything coarser than 400 before paint, I bet if you took your car in somewhere with flourescent lighting, you would be able to see some scratches.

---- bondo, get halftime putty, it dries quicker and aircraft grade.
