Default AbaZ Fiberglass front end?

I remember seeing you were building one for one of your cars. I live in Tacoma and build boats for a living so I thought if you needed any materials I may be able to get you materials at cost. Your site has helped me with preparing for my own turbo kit so I thought I'd try and give a little back.

heh, man I wish you would have told me that about 3 months ago before we started. I spent about 130 bucks in materials, and ended up being a COMPLETE waste, the thing is so ugly... I should take some pic's for a good laugh...

thanks though,

Jeff Frank

Unfortunately I didn't notice the part about the front end until recently. If you ever decide to try again let me know. I would love to see pic's ugly or not, because I was trying to see how you would go about making the part. I have made plug's and mold's for various boat parts and can't quite figure out an easy way to make a one-piece front end. Maybe thats why it didn't turn out too well

Oh man it was just hilarious.. we still joke about that thing. Basically we covered the front end up with garbage bags. Then just started dumping resien and layers of fiberglass on. did about 3-4 layers. Once done, the thing was a Pain in the *** to take off, since it pretty much molded itself to the front of the car... We busted out the sanders and tried smoothing the hood area. About 4 hours later, and 40 discs of sanding pads we were ------- no where. It was going to take WAY to long, and I called it quits... Beau says their is still hope for it... LOL

I am just going to go ahead and buy a front clip, and mounting for the race car..

Think I am gonna stay away from fiberglass for awhile, that ---- was everywhere, in my ***, all over my bed... you name it. Itchy!

You guys crack me up. Did you use PVA (mold release) on it?

pbwiz has the same ideas I did, make a mold from your car (plug), then you guys can lay up massive amounts of front ends in any gelcoat color you want, *** green, *** purple, even *** metaflake. Get a hold of someone with a chopper gun and the process will take about five minutes.

PVA, what the hell is that? We just went to boaters world and got our materials... like 9 gallons of resien and tons of fiberglass.

I trusted him... and look what happened,

Now I really need to take pics of this thing,

Jeff

btw, thanks for joining us Jim
