on a serious note, keep track of all of the orders you do. then if you keep doing this for a year, a year down the road, you can take that to a bank and prove to them, there is a demand for the product. you could do this...fill all of your orders you have now, then stop with orders. then just make up a bunch of parts, and post them for sale. when they are gone, they are gone. then make more. im sure you have an idea of what the demand is now...you could probably make more parts faster if you made say 25 of one kind of flange i would think. 25 of another...you get the idea.

and this might sound stupid, but cant you lease a CNC machine? i know you can lease a dyno :-\ that might be cheaper to do?

one more thing, i know how it goes with the wife. :P

I was tryin to get into snap on tools and sell on egay.-there was no "official snap on dealer on egay" i was almost there till i mentioned it to snapon when i talked to them. i sent in all of the paperwork got dealer prices, had my dealership license info submitted, everything. then what do you know. there is now a dealer on egay for snap on. so i dumped that idea. (this was about a year ago)

my point to this post, there is lots of free money out there. draw yourself up a business plan and go from there. do it right though. -one other thing, its not gonna happen over night. :-\

I have shitty credit, but i was still able to be approved a $50,000 loan, and 3 business credit cards i could take advantage of. if you own a house with just a little equidity, you can easily get a business loan. ;)

Check with the government....I dont know too much about Canada, but in the US if you know where to look Small Business loans are a dime a dozen, usually very little interest, and very easy to get. Similar to school loans.

Manufacturing jobs are also easy to get Grants for...at least in the US....There should be some sort of "Canadian Small Business Association" That will direct you to the right paperwork to fill in.

Whats your F/T work btw?

Maybe you could get a grant to lease a CNC machine/shop space, then spend your off hours upping your production, then hiring a H/S kid to do some work for you to help you out.

Aaron, this is just a high time. Oil lines are doing the same thing right now, but then comes the low month or a slow time. It's the way it happens, so don't freak out.
Another thing. I see people asking you for off the wall wacky flanges that you're only going to sell one of (to them) Why don't you stick to the flanges you already make, and throw the custom ---- on the back burner? If you have 5 t3 flanges sold, then make those instead of that one TB-37X15 that someone wants.

this is the only way now to buy military surplus, unless you go to a surplus store. but this is how you can get it straight from the govt.

make yourself an account, and search the products. its all 100% no reserve auction. you buy "lots" though, so you might have to buy in bulk. you can search it by location, what you want, whatever. the only thing is, they DONT SHIP. they will load a truck, if you need a semi to transport something, but they wont take something to UPS or USPS or whatever. kinda weird, i know. but thats that. one other thing to look for, the product in order to be sold must be in non working order, if its mechanical, to be sold. -but 9 times out of 10, its some jackass like me doesnt want to make it work, so they throw it away. lol, thats how it works. :D

and on the business loan, they are pretty easy, if you can show that you will have a reputiable business, there is a demand, and all of that. banks arent as lenient on businesses that dont have an esptablishment already.- say a restraunt. there can only be so many burger restraunts in one town. but like this machineing business, you have been paying out of pocket for a long time, have orders backed up, can show that it will be a good business, i dont htink you will have any problem getting a loan. ;)

agreed, that's what i do when chipping ecu's. i do all the straight up simple chip ones first, and put the special vtec conversions, p72 conversions, etc. on the back burner til i get the easy ---- out of the way. as far as the wifey, i feel your pain, she's always on my back b/c i'm always busy, but she has no complaints about the money it's bringing in :P

it's good and bad to be so busy. just don't ignore the wife...get her flowers, card, take her on a date every once in a while and you'll be good.

i still need to send you the specs on the t3 compressor inlet and outlets i need. i'm in no big hurry (have a newborn wife and i are taking care of) next month or so...you think you'll still be able to do them?

he's right, find the SBA site and apply. I have done commercial loans for buildings and then the client would do a sba loan for the actual business. I was gonna help my dad buy a deli/appartment last year but he's ------- retarded and would rather make other people money. :-\
