'99 accord V6 "want to twin turbo it"
I have a '99 honda accord that i am looking at putting twin turbos on. I was wondering if anyone knew the specs on the 3.0L V6 which is in my accord; i'm not sure what the engine will be able to take...

Re:'99 accord V6 "want to twin turbo it"
Heres a little info on the J30a1
http://www.nwsandgear.com/nwsandgear...site/J30A1.htm http://www.nwsandgear.com/buggy1.JPG Looks like they dyno'd it at 179whp out of the box stock. As far as what it can handle? most honda engines are pretty strong and can take a pretty good chunk amount of boost with proper tuning. I dont see why you couldnt build a twin setup for this and be around 275whp NP. |
Re:'99 accord V6 "want to twin turbo it"
youre gonna have more tranny problems than engine problems boosted... i think it can be done satisfactorily tho
|
Re:'99 accord V6 "want to twin turbo it"
yup tranny problems, space problems, customization problems, and $ problems if ur not mechnaically inclined
|
Re:'99 accord V6 "want to twin turbo it"
Tranny problems are the big thing, everything else can be done based on what setups most of you honda guys are already running... probably not that much more expensive if you diy with 2 T3 .42/.48s from a saab and made your own manis... Although it might be less prone to serious tranny problems than say, a turbo SHO.
