if by wont disingauge you mean lift off the flywheel at all? then there is a broken line/no fluid/ air in the line

or if you mean it wont seat back onto the flywheel then it could be broken fingers on the pp/rusted input shaft causing the throwout bearing to get hung up.

bleeding is the same as brakes, use a piece of clear vac hose over the bleeder, i find it makes it a lot easier to keep air out if your helper lets off the petal cuz they cant follow directions.

take a peak in there while someone pushes the clutch...im betting its all fubar in there. On my dads old truck the plastic part that surrounds the bearing found a way to get tangled in the spring and keep it from working properly, in addition to the slave leaking and making the truck immobile every week or so if not topped off.

My cavalier does that ---- and it gets to the point of not disengaging randomly so I'm sure the neighbors all think I suck at driving a manual. Rev matching those cars is easy as pie though so I'll fix it when it gets warm and dry.

Ya the rangers and explorers need bleed goofy. You have to open the bleeder then slowly push the pedal down then close the bleeder and pull the pedal back up. Its best to reverse bleed them though cause its a pain in the ass. I had lots of trouble on the 91 explore i put a tranny in for someone.
